BitCo Consumer Review

Hi All,

I just wanted to let you know we have activated a new high site in Weltervreden Park

This is a very Tall building found in the area known as - Clearwater Mall

Router getting delivered today :D

Last night, during load shedding I replaced a 3 pin plug on a multiplug with a kettle plug so I can plug routers etc into my UPS. Then I also took apart the UPS and ripped out the buzzer as the beeping is really annoying. I then plugged my switch, adsl router and bitco switch and PoE injector in. Also moved the PoE injector for one of my UniFi AP's to that end of the line so now when the power is off I should at least have internet/wifi for a while which I can use on my laptop.

Hey guys

I need some help here, does anyone stay close to the Pizza Hut in Weltevredenpark, who is a Bitco client? Ek is gatvol vir Telkom, and just need to know if Bitco clients are happy in this area?

Soak Soak Soak =/ I want my interwebs before the weekend! Any way we can expedite this to be done by CoB tomorrow (Install was yesterday).

I been waiting from last Thursday for the soak in test to get completed. call the support desk now. to be told they still busy with the testing and been delayed by the load shedding and upgrades their core network. making it so far 5 day and counting for soak in testing. with no timeframe when they will be done.

so much for there website saying soaking can take up to 4 day.

I really hope that's not the case, I called and was told it's a 7 working day soaking period (which is reflected as such in email coms and everything I signed), but the technician who installed says it takes 48 hours and lots of people here got it before the 7 day period was up, so here's to hoping it can be sped up a bit, not at the cost of the assurance of a quality connection though. Let them tweek what they need, would be nice if it's done earlier rather than 7 days (next week Friday) ...

I know Pizza Hut , pizza's are ***....... as for a BITCO customer in that area i can't help you there, however the 3rd house over from o'Hagans has a Bitco lollipop strap to the roof!

just hang in there. i know the end is near and cannot anymore. like going down to the coast when you a kid the trip feel like it take for ever. due to all the excitement and build up.
 
Ok got my router today. Tomorrow I guess I need to get onto support for login details to the router. Need to change internal ip range, configure port forwarding etc. Speedtest was 4.85 down and 1.56 up.
 
Hi Mike, my connection seems to be throttled to around 1.2 - 1.4Mbps...This is rather strange that is so restrained after business hours :wtf:

Something seriously wrong here. I have no downloads running, no streaming - watching YouTube is painful :(

Please assist - i will call the help desk tomorrow but they are not going to be able to test after hours.

by the sound of it no. i did question it over the phone with the one support lady on Tuesday. when they call me to get the switch rebooted.
 
Nope BitCo not affected by load shedding. I run full speed on a generator without downtime from BitCo's side.
 
That's cool.

anyone got pics of download speeds? (not from speedtest) actual downloads coming down on a 5MB connection.
