Mine as well, as no has commented in the Thatchfield area which estates has no issues. :erm:

Our biggest issue is normally trees. As far as I can remember there are not too many trees in the Thatchfields area and you probably look over the valley onto our tower. Fourways and Sandton have always been a problem... the price of living in the largest man made forest in the world.

They are only going to do the installation on Monday if there is LOS. Only going to know all this on Monday!:erm: can't wait anymore my excitement is trough the roof!!!

I too am one of those unlucky souls that did not have LOS for Bitco.
I did come right though after filling in the coverage request form on the WAPA website. LOS was confirmed with an alternative WISP and am now just waiting for installation.
Still must compliment Bitco on their excellent interaction with their (potential) customers.

Where in Randpark Ridge are you? I am on the otherside of RandPark Ridge Cockspur Road Weltewreden park, also no LOS from Bitco... they did mention that they will put up a Hi Site at Northcliff Hill which will provide LOS, so hope they do this in the next month or two so that we can get some decent connectivity...

@koos - Radio links, we do them aswell, point to point unlicensed - we use motorola's they work well, as long as you have LOS - Line of Sight and you not going through trees - tree are bad news for radios....
Question: What are the possibilities/likely hood of speed upgrades? Will Bitco be looking to maintain par with ADSL speeds, overtake or fall behind? I despise telkom, but one thing we have had is gradual free speed increases. In about 4+ years we have had our speed doubled and then doubled again from 500kb to 1mb to 2mb free of charge. How similar will it be with Bitco?

We have tested speeds of up to 50Mb off our towers and we are currently looking at installing FTTH in the dense areas where we have many users. This will be able to scale up as needed.
We will also be first in line when ICASA opens up high demand spectrum to operators.
