Hi All,

BF4 Update

We have spent many hours testing and optimizing the BF4 ports on our network and can confirm as far as we can tell they are working much better.

Over this weekend i played BF4 on an Xbox one for around 3 hours on a 10Mbps home link without any problems, i did not experience any form of LAG or any servers which didn't allow my connection.

With all this said we have had very different feedback from the users on our network everyone has noticed a significant improvement as we have now optimized the ports, Some users still experience a form of LAG (Rubber Banding) while others say its 100% perfect.

We are now going to contact each user with an issue individually and determine what section of the network they are connected too and see what is the common denominator.

We will post a further update here shortly

Think the scary part is.after that period they just tell you no LOS. What if Bitco had a faster response team to determine the LOS and after that an instillation team?

Good stuff Mike!

Personally i dont have lag i just get kicked after 5 min, "connection to server timed out"

I think this might be the issue for most PC guys?

SA servers are minimal on PC, Telkom gaming conquest, Mweb #impala, MWeb 24/7 operation locker, bmw clan server 2 , bmw clan sever 1

Thats alomost all of the servers without DLC's

That sucks so much. And surely that guy could have lifted the dish much higher? The other guy is standing in the way!
I can almost for certain say they were only there to do a LoS survey and no install. BitCo maintain they do come out with the intention to install when LoS is clear but given how early it gets dark this time of the year, and the fact that the LoS check was done at 16:30 with a typical installation taking 2-4 hours (according to BitCo), the guys would have finished 18:30 soonest (20:30 latest). I don't mind the initial LoS check but would have appreciated transparency on the process so that I did not have to waste 3 hours waiting around for a 30min check which they could have done without me present.

My order was confirmed 24 April 2015. I was called for an LoS (and install?) appointment in the 5th week (27 May 2015).

I agree that they can optimise their LoS and installation process quite a bit if they have a dedicated LoS Team doing feasibility checks. When I asked the Tech that came out to my place how many installs they did for the day he said "We only did LoS checks today, many".

My issues are that my alternative ADSL and 3G options are so piss-poor, and I do not want to make a blanket statement regarding their way of work because it inconveniences me personally - I appreciate the efforts they put in to ensure proper service.

I do however need to commit to an alternative second-best option ASAP, if not BitCo, since we run a small home office from the property. I feel that BitCo could have done a LoS test earlier and forwarded me the feasibility results, telling me whether the 6 week wait would be worth it, as opposed to making me wait 6 weeks for a "maybe, maybe not". I suspect I am in for an overall 2-month+ wait if the LoS feasibility check comes back with a installation go-ahead.

BF 4 absolutely shocking, packet loss ranging from 11% to 100%

If I could post a video of the network graph you would be disgusted, we are paying a premium for a service and we are getting **** like this

What rustles my jimmies is the fact that I've been having similar issues in Counter Strike since like the 2nd month I've been with Bitco (Its 10 months later now) and not nearly as much effort has been put in to fix the issue, guess not enough people complaining about CS as they are about Battlefield... Anyhow if the results I got from complaining are anything to go by, I don't see them sorting out the BF packet loss issues anytime soon

No paperwork, no finding out, unfortunately.

Just receive the report - No line of sight, no install possible. We are 3 people in the same complex whom I suspect are borked.

@Wikkels88

Just found out that one of the reasons why this packet loss could be occurring is that some individuals that connect to the same high site as myself are downloading huge amounts of torrents P2P etc, a backhaul maxing out between Roodepoort High Site and Honeydew High Site before it gets to the fibre. This sudden surge of traffic causes backhaul to peak and then as a result rubberbanding, lag and packet loss. So if this is the case im gonna be really pissed!!

Tell me about it.

I'm going to ask that they come to me in the morning. To me it really sounds like they didn't even try there by you which for me is incredibly disappointing. Did they try higher up than the pic you showed? Because I'm sure that dish could have been lifted way higher than that.

That kinda made sense, because when I first signed up my connection was flawless, never once was had packet loss, but as their home clients grew over time the quality of gaming got worse... Their technicians blame it on radio interference, but then how come early in the evenings (when I suspect traffic is the highest when most people are home and awake) its almost impossible to play online without constant packet loss, only at around 11pm does it get better (still not completely packet loss free, but atleast its not constant)...

He got onto the highest point on the roof to take the pictures of the Survey, which is in the report.

What I find curious is that there are high-sites by Clearwater Mall and Honey Hill, according to their coverage map, which is not even referred to. The report refers to the highsite atop the hill in Helderkruin, where the report indicates "Poor Signal". The other 2 pics point 2.5KM East from my house to God knows what (there is nothing in that direction 2.5km away on their coverage map, like the center of a radius circle) and then North-West 3.35 to something inbetween Glover and Pierre Roads in Ruimsig (again, nothing on their coverage map there).
