I have upgraded my line to 10Mbps and it's been active for about a week now. I have no idea why I didn't do it sooner

It's amazing downloading at 1MBps from steam /love.

What ever happened to that copy of BF4 for R 199.00 , then your tune will change!!!

But you are quite right, streaming and downloading is effortless on the 10mb/s Link:D

Not touching BF4 yet. I'll wait for it to be resolved. Maybe I should just get it and feedback from a PC gaming side? I just don't want to frustrate myself tbh
I have been very lucky with CS:GO. I might just be lucky with BF4 too? I'll see if I can drop out in lunch time and get a copy.

The biggest problem with the 10mb/s link is that it costs R1500 a month! As much as I'd like that, that's an incredibly large amount to spend just on internet. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the 5mb/s is like.

I'm outside of Neotel coverage (wimax and LTE), the Telkom cables to my complex were stolen and the previous owner opted against installing a conduit to our unit.

The only option, it seems is to go with Bitco or another wireless ISP. My usage is about 150GB per month mostly browsing, Netflix and the occasional newsgroup download. I also require a low latency connection for gaming. Having never been with a wireless ISP before, my question is: "is Bitco 5Mbps uncapped suitable for my needs or am I going to have issues?".

Perfect for your requirements as long as you don't play Battlefield 4

Thanks! I noticed quite a few posts complaining about Battlefield 4 performance. How is this game different from any other? and is this only an issue on Bitco at the moment? (I'm also looking at going with WiruLink)

All other services are perfect....... as for BATTLEFIELD 4 that's another story, EA/DICE went and changed there network protocols about 3 months ago and BITCO got caught with there pants down.Bitco's network and packet reading protocols interprets the BF4 connection as a P2P Torrent so gamers will suffer from Lag,Rubberbanding and Packet loss in general it impossible to play it, all other online games are perfect.

Bitco are aware of this issue and they are trying there best to sort it out but it is taking them to much time to resolve!!!

Strangely enough their counterparts in Cape Town Sonic Wireless use the same link system except they don't have issues with BF4 the only difference is their FUP, Bitco uses leaky bucket Formula and Sonic Wireless use a soft cap from 350GB up to 1.5TB depending on what package you are on.

But ya different strokes for different folks.

If you are happy to stream in low definition then it's fine. Once the FUP kicks in on a 5Mb connection then bye bye HD streaming. I have been a Bitco customer for a year next month and I am most likely going to move to Neotel LTE. They have given me a loan unit and I am going to test the LTE tonight.

That would suck mid-way through a super rugby game. (Unless it's the Sharks playing)

Yes it is very annoying. Neotel FUP on a 6Mb connection is 600GB so I wont have that problem. I wish Bitco would change from the leaky bucket system to a soft cap.

Yea, I don't mind paying that much but I expect at least 20mbps otherwise as soon as a cheaper option becomes available I will jump at it.

Yea but you should have the choice at least. Uncapped + leaky bucket or Soft cap + throttling

I'm still in favour of leaky bucket because If I got 5mbps after 200gb I would be pissed paying for 10mbps

Should you find their service is not delivering (and you have say a 12month contract). What are your options? Can you terminate the contract / return the equipment without penalties?

Bitco would have one answer to the Leaky Bucket FUP.....we cannot guarantee 1:1 contention and a stable network as the abusers would jump on there high horses and shag the crap out of the network!!!
