BitCo Consumer Review

In another 3 months time?

1.Either they are going to announce that gaming is no longer viable on their network and that if you want to you may cancel and there will be no cancellation fee applicable.

2. They will open the APN and make the link unrestricted however at a huge additional cost option:mad:

3.Or the last option they are actually going to fix it:wtf:

Seriously an announcement on there website!!

I give up!!

I dont know if anybody has noticed, BITCO has removed GAMING from there website as a suitable use of their services on the 10mb/s and 5 mb/s packages!!!

Here comes trouble?

I also remember something about they are going to adjust their prices/speeds for the 5mb and 10mb soon, like 3-4months back. Maybe that was just me :s

Woot! I got confirmation this morning that my link is now active! :D I can't wait to go home and try it out.

They gave me a passkey. I take it that is to access the wifi? Do I have to ask them to give me the login details to the router admin? Will email them now.

Morning Gentleman,

It has been 3 months and there is still no resolution to the BF4 issue.

Simply put the game must just work, is it that difficult!

Where do we go from here, who do we talk too that will give us answers and ultimately a solution to the problem!

3 months........unacceptable!!!

Regards

I believe Richard and our Directors are working on this issues, Note that we even went to a point where we have the playstations and Xbox 360s in our office to test the applications you are having issues with.

We apologise as this takes bit long to resolve. We are working very hard to have this resolve and we will apply the solution once we know what causes this issues.

regards

Well I was thinking of going with Bitco but I may as well go with another provider if they have that attitude. That and a 6 week waiting period.

Everyone having issues with Bitco. Do you ever receive support after business hours?

* Get customised solutions. How custom was my installation? Can DSTV promote this too? Its just a dish and LOS.
* Innovative products. So innovative that other wireless signals disrupts the signal, and gaming is a nightmare.
* Hundreds of satisfied clients. How many customers do you actually have? That sounds extremely low. Are the rest of your customer base gamers?
* Unprecedented reliability (Unprecedented - never done or known before). False...so, so false! About as reliable as and old VW Golf in winter. Or if they mean unprecedented reliability as in your games will run like shi*t. Then yes, 100% correct.
* 99% uptime. Nope...nah ah...oh no. In 10 months of being with bitco, I've been down way more than 99%.
* Quality of service driven. As long as you contact then during business hours. We all need our weekends, don't we. Unless you're a gamer.
* Lowest Possible Latency. Lowest possible does not mean the best. Gamers are having the worst time of their lives with this connection.

Hi Everyone,

We are aware of the problems experienced with Battlefield 4 and we are addressing it. Please see our official statement here, http://bitco.co.za/bf4/ and kindly note that we will post regular updates via this page in future.

Best regards,

BitCo

Can any existing users or BitCo please send me the admin login details for the router?
Surely you should be able to factory reset the thing and set it up as you would a normal 3G/ADSL Router? I'm not the expert but the WAN connectivity, speeds, IP's, etc is set up on the Microwave controller itself, with the router simply receiving/sending internet traffic though the WAN port? It should issue the Router with an public IP etc.

I don't know. Don't want to break anything. :) I sent BitCo an email an hour ago but didn't receive an email back from their automated ticketing system. I wonder if it's may down at the moment or something. Or it may just be taking a while to come through. I'm probably a bit hasty. :)

Bitco, please don't move away from this forum. I will be a very sad panda

I agree however that this is not your direct line of communication as per the below quote:

We acknowledge responses are slow on a medium such as the MyBroadband forums and wish to reiterate that this is not an official BitCo communication channel. As such, it is sporadically monitored – which accounts for the delay in responses. BitCo representatives responding via this channel may also not necessarily have all the authorised information on hand to answer a specific question at the time they are responding. We, as a company, have done our best to engage with consumers on all the platforms they feel comfortable with, like the forums, insofar as we have the available resources to do so. We implore that official communication with BitCo is directed to us via our support desk by email ([email protected]). Where this has not proved sufficient, we ask that our service escalation procedure is followed.

Don't disappear I love how easy it is to get answers on here and even if I have to wait a few days it's fine.

Damn. BitCo can't connect to my router to set up my username and password. I will have to go check this evening and see why. I left everything as is after the installation so I hope there isn't something wrong.

I really hope the link is active and working and that the router is functioning fine and that everything will just be awesome tonight.

BF 3-4-HL on BitCo

I had BitCo 5mbps for 2years and then Upgraded to 10mbps for the last year.
Year 1 BF 3-4 was working 100%
Year 2-3 not so mutch.

I want to point out that the Battlefield 3-4-HL problem came out after an net-code update from EA/Dice. That is why the game took so long to fix on BitCo's network.

BitCo did do something to make it work but you may still have a problem.

The Biggest Problem was Hi-Frequency network Updates. It automatically switch on dew to the low ping we have.
Under BF4 you should leave the option on auto. (the previous Update you could turn it off)
Under Hardline you can switch it off.

After doing this your BF will stop the 30sec.-5min. server disconnection bug.

*I have not tested BF3 yet and will update my comment as soon as Im sure it works or not.

Update
*I Have tested BF3 and it all so works now. :D
