BitCo Consumer Review

100% correct. In some areas it is much less.

Those dishes are capable of 50km links, aren't they? It's just that 8km sounds awfully short in comparison but then again, I haven't seen the link calcs.

Will the link distances shorten once the speeds approach 100Mbps?

Yay! :D

Welcome to BitCo oliverwww :)

Up and running yesterday afternoon. So 7 days from signing the quote to installed and connected. Thanks Bitco. Connection is great!!!

Yeah, playing Arena in wow this weekend was almost unplayable (at least for pushing rating). Everything would be going nice and responsive at 190ms and then suddenly it was like I was link dead for about 5 seconds and then responsive again. Running actual pings during this time didn't so any packet loss or drop in connection, and netflix didn't have this issue.

This makes me think it could be something relating to UDP traffic as ICMP (pings) and TCP (Netflix) were fine.

I'm obviously just speculating here.

Also had the same in the raids over the weekend :|

so the BitCo people was here on Wednesday last week testing LOS and taking photos said they see some LOS then they left and said wait for the call from BitCo was told i have have an answer by tuesday morning at the latest i live in Lombardy East i am hoping for good news :D:D

garthvs any good news on my location?

No LOS....sigh :(

garthvs any good news on my location?

Man you guys have no idea how a dread moving when I buy a place again. I will have to get on the roof first and see if I can get a clearl view before I even sign an offer to purchase :D I will not be able to survive the world again without Bitco in it. If I had to use someone else again with their horrid service I might as well just be without internet. No rush at the moment though so I'm kinda happy the way things are. But sooner or later I will have to buy again :cry:

I'll make 100% sure I have coverage before I move that is for sure.

Hey guys , so the guys came to do a LOS test , I have perfect line of sight but am 8.6km away from the highsite. They said the max is 8km. So they took pictures and they said the office will call me in 3 days. I wanted to know if you guys think there still might be a chance for me. Maybe garthvs has some idea because I think he said at some point that their coverage map was a bit on the cautious side. Really hoping we can do something.

I had a LOS done and I'm 7km away from the tower. Was denied being too far. I've begged and asked nicely but was still denied :(

If you are approved then maybe I have a chance myself #hopefull

I doubt you will be seeing 100Mbps using the PtMP system they using. But I am with you, 8KM is short for a 30 or 34dbi antennae if they running 5Ghz

@Garth

Maybe you guys can put a black/red dot in the centre of each coverage circle on your website. This might help people like me to know within a block or two where to look to see if they can see your towers from their own roof. From where I live I have an idea where your tower is, but within a 5 block radius there are about 4 high-sites for different componies.

Just a thought...

@garth

Hey i wanted to know if their is coverage at Tuks

University of pretoria as i will be studying their next year and was thinking of going Bitco

I had the same thought yesterday on the way home, I even pictured going to view a show house and being like "yeah, the kitchen and bathroom are nice, but can I climb on your roof?" I could imagine the estate agent giving you the :wtf: face.

So my ping to overseas is up by 40-50ms, (Latency: 215 ms) compared to 170 last night.
Is this to do with the DNS attack Garth?

Hope its fixed soon, I was extremely excited to play League of Legends on low ping.

Oliver
