Okay. So here’s my experience with Bitco from first seeing their ad on mbb to site survey.
So when I first saw Bitco's ad I couldn't click on it faster! And after reading there webpage I run around the house showing everybody this ISP I just came across! I phoned in and was put through to Jamie, I nearly broke her ears with all the questions I had to ask. She was incredibly helpful and answered every last question. After discussing moving from our terrible 'ol slow iBurst to Bitco we decided to go ahead. When I contacted Jamie about our decision she was almost as excited as us! We were put through to Khanyisile who was also extremely helpful, we signed all the documentation and waited in enormous anticipation for the site survey test to see if we had LOS. They told us to give them a 2 week window to arrange and install, but just as unbelievable as there customer service sure thing the next day they called to arrange and two days later they were here! The team duos were very knowledgeable and friendly. They jumped onto the roof and searched and searched for a tower but unfortunately they could not find LOS.... They made a report and told us they were going to review over it with their director and we willed be informed on their decision on whether to return and install or cancel the order due to no LOS. Two days later we received an email that unfortunately they had come to the decision that due to no LOS that if they installed they wouldn’t be able to uphold the 99% uptime guaranty:/ With broken hearts we asked if we could trim some trees then would they reconsider, they said of course and would hold the order, so we went off trimming our trees looking over Sandton and Joburg centre. We took photos of the new clearing and sent them through to Bitco, the wireless team reviewed them and unfortunately still did not see line of sight to a tower and so the order was cancelled….
So here we sit, with slow ‘ol iBurst. If there’s a number of things iv decided after Bitco is for one, iv given up the search for WISP and just going to wait for the day a new tower is put up Midrand side. And second is that each and every single company in south Africa can learn 4 or more things from Bitco, from there customer service to really and truly going the extra mile!
And so now we wait for the day we get new coverage.
Bitco if there’s something I can suggest is please change and keep your coverage map so that it shows the coverage of each tower, therefor in future me and others can see if we are covered by new towers
