BitCo Consumer Review

I've had several connection drops over the weekend(Started Friday night, had a few issues on Saturday, and again just now),also when its up there are occasional lag spikes all over in different online games, all and all Bitco disappointing again when it comes to online gaming ISP's.:(

Looks like the majority of the issues I've experienced have been over weekends, and seeing that I do 90% of my gaming over weekends, this means that this connection is useless to me 90% of the time, ah well atleast my gf gets to download all her series and movies, so someones at least enjoying it.

Been waiting a month for bitco to draw a contact for my complex

Hey guys

Just want to say thanks for all your feedback. Moving end of the month and seeing as telkom aren't installing lines into our area within the next year, I had to look for internet alternatives. Wasn't keen on mobile as I use a lot of data and it is expensive. Accidentally stumbled across Bitco and decided to check them out. Saw that I was in the coverage area but was still skeptical. Decided to see what people had to say about wireless in general and found this thread. This thread put my mind at ease. Ordered my service Friday the 11th July. Was asked on Wednesday the 16th (this past Wednesday) if they could come and check for LOS and if all good, install tomorrow (Monday). I was super excited, except it being a new complex and all, I had to postpone the visit till Friday the 1st of August, which is when we are scheduled to move in. Oh well, looks like someone in the complex next to ours has Bitco, I am assuming, so my hopes of LOS are very high. I can see a hill and towers directly from our upstairs bedroom so ... anyways, we will have to wait and see.

Super excited. Will keep you all posted.

Okay. So here’s my experience with Bitco from first seeing their ad on mbb to site survey.

So when I first saw Bitco's ad I couldn't click on it faster! And after reading there webpage I run around the house showing everybody this ISP I just came across! I phoned in and was put through to Jamie, I nearly broke her ears with all the questions I had to ask. She was incredibly helpful and answered every last question. After discussing moving from our terrible 'ol slow iBurst to Bitco we decided to go ahead. When I contacted Jamie about our decision she was almost as excited as us! We were put through to Khanyisile who was also extremely helpful, we signed all the documentation and waited in enormous anticipation for the site survey test to see if we had LOS. They told us to give them a 2 week window to arrange and install, but just as unbelievable as there customer service sure thing the next day they called to arrange and two days later they were here! The team duos were very knowledgeable and friendly. They jumped onto the roof and searched and searched for a tower but unfortunately they could not find LOS.... They made a report and told us they were going to review over it with their director and we willed be informed on their decision on whether to return and install or cancel the order due to no LOS. Two days later we received an email that unfortunately they had come to the decision that due to no LOS that if they installed they wouldn’t be able to uphold the 99% uptime guaranty:/ With broken hearts we asked if we could trim some trees then would they reconsider, they said of course and would hold the order, so we went off trimming our trees looking over Sandton and Joburg centre. We took photos of the new clearing and sent them through to Bitco, the wireless team reviewed them and unfortunately still did not see line of sight to a tower and so the order was cancelled….

So here we sit, with slow ‘ol iBurst. If there’s a number of things iv decided after Bitco is for one, iv given up the search for WISP and just going to wait for the day a new tower is put up Midrand side. And second is that each and every single company in south Africa can learn 4 or more things from Bitco, from there customer service to really and truly going the extra mile!
And so now we wait for the day we get new coverage.

Bitco if there’s something I can suggest is please change and keep your coverage map so that it shows the coverage of each tower, therefor in future me and others can see if we are covered by new towers:)

Hi Cavan

Thanks for the excellent feedback. I will ensure our team receives acknowledgement for it. I will also take the coverage feedback to our coverage map maintainer.

Hi Garth,

Tried from the work now and the webiste is not loading? The landing works with the displays. You click and then goes to which ever one you clicked. But that is it. Shows the page for a split second then loads a green banner up top and a blank page. Tried on compatibilty as well. Nothing.

Might just be me though.

Webpages are loading slowly for me at the office. . . Maybe we need to get BitCo installed here as well :D

Hi Guys,

I can view the website now. Not getting that scrolling banner no more though on Explorer 9. I get the Home landing page then the options from there.

Looks nice :)

new website looks great - much easier to navigate and brighter.. nice

We have 3 tower builds planned for the Vaal Triangle. I cannot say exactly where at the moment but I will update everyone closer to the time.

Come on guys the Vaal is ripe for the picking, any update yet garth. I'm desperate and every time I read new posts on this thread the jealousy in me gets uncontrollable. I'm afraid I might hurt someone !!! :)

Friday install, tech said probably Monday hand over.. called Monday still checking we will call you Tuesday morning.. no call, phoned they say being checked by directors?

starting to worry :(
