Hi Oliver

Yes, we were hit with a DOS attack this afternoon which was promptly block on our core. The slightly higher latency is due to a network reroute to Europe at the moment but your gaming should perform almost the same albeit 30ms slower. We have multiple international routes which can reroute depending on traffic conditions and if there are any international faults etc...

Is this just temporarily, or will my latency eventually come down. (That is if your reroute it?)
I was extremely impressed with international latency yesterday, whether it was WACS etc It was extremely good.

How long does the policy take to cool down? I stopped my torrents at 4pm but i'm still getting 2mb.

Our Infrastructure Director climbed the house he was considering buying with the estate agent so he could double check coverage. :)
 
Installed yesterday!!

I really wasn't expecting them to be able to get LOS, but it seems that the tech picked up a really strong signal. So strong that there was no point installing the 50cm (?) dish he brought; so he pushed off and came back with a ~30cm dish.

I'm told that Internet should be working later today!
 
Hi burisch

If you are within 1km or so to a tower we don't need a very high gain antenna so we can install the smaller dish you mention.

Once it is installed we need to test the link for several days.

Need some help, i'm trying to send emails from Outlook, but my SMTP (correct me if I'm wrong) is wrong.
I don't happen to know if Bitco has one?
Its smtp.afrihost.co.za right now, but obviously it wont work.

No the SMTP must be the Bitco one. and then your POP3. No idea what it is, you will have to ask Garth though. SMTP is the sending part of the mail and you not connected to Afrihost so it won't work
 
May need to rename sending and receiving ports . Contact the help centre sure they will fix it

Hi Oliver

You can use smtp.bitco.co.za for outgoing email. You incoming server settings must stay the same as they were.
