Hi Peder

Have you checked if you are in our coverage area? Just plug in your address on http://bitco.co.za/coverage/

If you are within the blue area there is a high probability of being able to take services.

Sent through the forms, now I wait 2 weeks for the installation, cross fingers for me.

@oliverwww, which direction is your antenna pointing? I am just down the road from you :)

Hi Garth,

I want to enquire about getting a Bitco satellite installed for the whole complex that I'm staying in. Can you please advise? I have also sent you a pm.

Thanks!

I atcually went out looking for a game I can play online with teh PS3 to see what the experience is like. Bought COD: MW3 and played online for most part of Saturday and Sunday. Not 1 single problem. Also then went out yesterday to go buy a damn headset... can't play online everyone is taking and you can't talk back :D

Still FLAWLESS.

I was told that I'm the host for most of the games, I have no idea how the game allocates a host but I'm sure it has to do with the integrity of the line or the ping or something. Just thought I'll share that too for anyone who might be wondering about the online gaming on consoles.

Pointing towards Kyalami Castle ;) Had a super clear LOS.

The guys came to test my house yesterday and I can see a tower at 85% signal, but its 15km's away and they think it's too far :(

Really was hoping I'd get some good signal but it seems it's not to be.... Damn

A bit off topic but if you have a Bitco installation antennae can you connect to the JAWUG with this?

Bitco guys came around and very friendly to do a test and I've got clear LOS with very good signal but there is a small tree on the one side that's not allowing them to install, that's QAD for me as a potential client.
For me to get the service I need to go to a stranger 4km away from me to ask him to cut down the tree.

You make it sound like the slightest thing can cause the service to not be feasible. Is it really that bad?
Meanwhile (after my fight with the Body Corporate) I am trying to figure out if BitCo can do a slightly 'unconventional' installation. :D

May I ask what area of the East Rand you're in?

I'm just disappointed for the manager not to allow installation even the installer said you have good signal and it wouldn't be a issue.
I'm in impalapark.

Ah, I'm just across the highway from you. Hopefully BitCo can sort me out -- just waiting for feedback from Garth (wouldn't want to waste their time and mine).

I just waisted a day off. Hopefully they can sort you out. Good luck.
Just maybe they will reconsider installing mine.

Lol what would constitute as "unconventional"?

Movable mast on balcony as opposed to one fixed to a wall or roof. :)

I was told that other tenants are allowed to put up DSTV dishes as the communal system isn't functioning properly, but I'm not allowed to install a dish for internet because "there are other options available." So this is just my way of first seeing whether I can avoid a fight.

Wow that sounds rather "silly", your body corp is full of ****. . . They cant force you to use something you don't want, and they cant promise the same levels of excellence that you would probably get from Bitco. . .

Hi CR34M3

Unfortunately we can't install on a movable mast as the dish alignment is very sensitive and would constantly need realigning.
