Wow that sucks.

But let's be honest here though. They come to your place twice and tried to do the installation. And they should be scared driving there for a 3rd time and might not have success again. You would have charged a call out fee if you where them right?

That being said, if you are 100% sure it can be fitted now, pay the R 800.00 as it's well worth it I can promise you that. I does suck though, any idea why your wall was plastered that thick?

Yes. Let's be honest. Would you be happy to pay R800 for half an installation and another R800 for the other half? We only found out what the problem was the second time they came around . The technician said the bolts would not anchor into the plaster and we should chop it out to expose the concrete which is what I did. There is absolutely no reason the installation won't work this time round. I am 100% sure.

edit: sorry never answered your question

I would have paid the R 800 knowing what I know now. If not at least I would have negotiated paying for the fuel at least. As for the installation I feel the same way the response was. No one asked you to do it, that is the installer's job. But I do get your point and it is a valid one.

I'm Biased as I love their service. Admittedly I have not had 1 single problem since inception. Same can't be said for some other users but they all agree that the customer services is world class. I'm pretty sure that all avenues would have been checked before they came to the conclusion to charge the R 800.

I can't speak on their behalf, just thinking what I would have done given the same situation and it was my company. I'm sure you and Garth would be able to come to some sort of agreement. He has been very accomodating from what I have seen. Honestly hoping you get it sorted, it's definately the best internet I have had to date. Not just the product, I want customer service and I have no way in flawing their customer service at all. If you have been dealing with Telkom an dthe likes you will appreciate good service when you get it

Ya I hear you. I want bitcos service but without the attitude would be nice. I did actually try to negotiate but that's when it was rudely spoken to.

Hey guys...

so I am pleased to report that my BitCo is up and running and man am I impressed. My connection was ear marked by a huge quake, that is how fast my connection is flying :p jjk. but serious, how was that quake????

Anyways, so I am super impressed. I am so sorry for the guys that have not been able to get BitCo. I don't want to rub any more salt into your wounds either so I will keep this brief.

Pitbull, I am needing help please. I am trying to get my netflix working. I am using Unotelly for my DNS settings, but when I go to Netflix.com, I get taken to Unlocation instead. I have no idea why. Please help if you have a moment ;)

Thanks

Well thought the building I was in was about to come down, so ran out the door...... :wtf:

Anyway, the first time I used UnblockDNS I had to enter my email address before it took me to the sites I actually wanted to get to. I'm assuming Unotelly is the same. There should be a login / email thing on their web site. I was also being taken to some wierd sites before I activated the DNS...

But Pitbull might know more...

You need to load the DNS on your devices. If Win 7, go Network and Sharing Centre, select Change adapter settings, right click on the Bitco connection and select properties. Click on Internet protocol Version 4 (IPV4) click properties. Change Obtain DNS server address automatically to Use the following DNS and add the 2 IP addresses. Connect and watch Netflix.

I am using Win 8.1

I was given the router login details and added the DNS details there. Unotelly is telling me that all is ok. But when I try to go to Netflix, that is when I get re-directed. I have no idea why. I am adding the DNS details to the router because I have a few devices that use those settings. Was the easiest option.

Don't forget to restart everything once you change the DNS settings - the router, pcs and ipads - Mine would hold onto my IP address until I rebooted everything else. Worth a try....

Does anyone have the 10mb package? I'm looking for some feedback and speedtests as I'm considering upgrading.

You need to null route google's dns and opendns as some of the services are starting to force public lookups.

Out of interest, does BitCo refer to itself as a WiMAX operator?

The term was big business at one stage and bandied about in the media with great abandon. Now it seems to be a forgotten term...

I would assume since WiMAX (802.16) and WiFi (802.11) are different standards it would be considered as a WISP operator.

Thanks, I've been pondering on this for a while.

Why isn't WiMAX bigger here? Garth, any input from your side? (Sorry, I don't mean to derail your thread)
