BitCo Consumer Review

Hi Pitbull.

Currently just using ps3.

I know with a recent update (Unotelly Notified me) that most consoles (PS3/Xbox/etc) are forcing their DNS servers to public servers (Google - 8.8.8.8). I know I had an issue on my PS3, so I blocked the public DNS in my modem, and Hulu and Netflix worked fine.
I'm sure it's the same with UnblockUS. You could give it a quick Google, should solve your problem.

Thank you. Will give it a try.

When they handed over your installation, did they give you a username and password for the Linksys E900?

On that note, how configurable is the BitCo package? What if we don't need the Linksys wireless router? In my case everything is Ubiquiti, including my access points.

Garth?

Ok, am I being a bit of an idiot? How do you connect to the WiFi if you don't have the password to set it up?

They only provide you with the password to connect to the wireless.
If you need access to the router self you need to ask them for it.

Hi Azimuth

You can replace the router if you want. You will just need to program the static IP address details on your new router.

Thanks Garth. Helpful forum member PM'd me.

Stress testing the link by downloading all the GT6 updates. Crikey, didn't realise there were so many and so big!!

So on that note, is there an easy way to see when we are "throttled"? Online portal or something?

Garth and Team,

ALL I CAN SAY IS AWESOME

Streaming is sorted and everything is working like a charm.

thank you for the good service.

thanks for everyone's input and assistance for the streaming.
once the BITCO team added the DNS to the firewall everything was up and running.

I'm visual like that. ;) It's like saying all base stations are the same but they're not!

Incidentally I think there's an install happening down the road from me. Pure coincidence that I saw it. I'll post the photos. :)

Turned out to be an existing installation, not sure if BitCo's?

I was on my way to do some tower hunting when I spotted this. Reason I thought it was a new install was because of the ladder.

Yip, definitely a RocketDish!

From the other side I saw there was a MikroTik SXT as well.

This RocketDish needs a wipe! So not a new install after all.

Assume the RocketDish should be pointing here. The SXT is forming a PTP link somewhere else.

This is the biggest high site in the West, located atop the mountain above Little Falls.

For interest, here is a high site I came across in Roodekrans.

This seems like a brand new highsite. Everything looks new bar the sector antennas.

All Ubiquiti equipment in a 360 degree array.

Up close. I imagine this is a Rohn tower.

Networking cabinet, I assume...

This is how all your links work. :)

Since I can't build a cell base station at my house, how about one of these? :p

We use much more expensive equipment on our highsites. Those backhauls don't provide enough bandwidth for the number of subscribers per tower unless it is severely contended. :)

Awesome, but making use of airmax sectors so your bottleneck is there
