@ Garthvs How long before i know if it i will or wont be getting an installation? Wife nearly cried when they left without installing. Said she would rather go back to DSTV if we cant get a better connection.... :cry:

Garth, would you ever revise your package prices when ADSL prices do become cheaper? Say in 2 years that your pricing is considered expensive?
As well as would you ever offer higher speed packages?

Oliver, ADSL is the only industry in the country where it's employees, contractors, suppliers, etc expect annual increases and it's customers expect annual decreases. Do you see the impending flaw in that logic?

That aside, they will probably keep the pricing static and rather increase the speed you get for that pricing.
 
Well i have been following this thread for a while and no one have posted speed tests of a 10mbps account? I would really like to see how the 10mbps package is performing to Local, International (London, NY, HK)...

Also i would really like to find out if anyone is getting 1080p video quality on Netflix?

Installed!! Installed!! Installed!! Finally, LOS was found and installed the same time. Bitco is busy with testing I guess as we "speak". The installation started at 15h00 yesterday and was completed at 18h50, it was done very professionally and neatly. Can't wait for the Bitco Team to handover the line to me. I ordered the 2mbps line mainly for Netflix, gaming and some downloads. Hopefully the speed is enough for me to watch hulu/netflix without buffering. Thinking very deeply about upgrading to the 5mbps but already feeling guilty on spending R699 p/m, just don't seem to justify myself for R899 p/m on the 5mbps. Maybe if Bitco in future should bump all the users in 2mbps to 5mbps free of charge then it would be great, just as Telkom did. So for now, @GarthV i'm waiting on your team to handover the line. :)

I had the 2Mbps initially and it's perfect for gaming and viewing Netflix. You should not have a problem at all. The 5Mbps is required if you stream to more than one device and require bigger downloads. You will be happy and more than willing to up to 5Mbps I promise you ;)

Just to add, although I'll only download the odd series and movie for my gf, even with throttled speeds I manage about 10-15GB per day on the days I que a lot of downloads on the 2MBs... Which I think is more than enough for most people, even if you watch a lot of movies/series

I doubt YouTube would even buffer on a 1Mbps line... :)
 
That is quite amazing because all the years I had 4Mbps ADSL, and 6Mbps for a brief period, YouTube buffered to kingdom come. It's one of the reasons I enjoy LTE so much. Multiple users on my network can stream 1080p all at the same time.

I had ADSL before and I can promise you I have never experienced internet like this. I was sceptical on wireless but since I had no choice where I stay now appart from the Cell operators I gave it a go. And I will never go for copper or Cell operators EVER EVER AGAIN!. The service I have received from Bitco to date just blows me away. I have never experienced service like this in my life. Very Happy to be with Bitco.
 
Well.... the outcome is no LOS....... Was really looking forward to 10Mb internet. Oh well, back to the drawing board

Garth, you guys need to seriously get some coverage into the "valley" containing Fairlands / Northcliff / Strubens / Little Falls / Constantia Kloof / Weltevrenpark / Allens Nek / Radiokop / Randpark Ridge etc...

Yes, we are battling with coverage there at the moment but we are making a plan... I can't commit on lead times at the moment but I will place a message on this thread as soon as it is done.

I'm in radiokop and I have perfect coverage - the tower is near the spaceship house.
