BitCo Consumer Review

After Ordering my connection last week Thursday, I've been way too excited!

Got a call from Bronwyn yesterday, making a booking for the 11th... So far away
So I've read this forum and now I created this, obviously had to be done in paint, just to eat up more time.

Wow, seems like you fall inside of [-]5[/-] 4 towers :D Just make sure you don't have any trees hindering LOS and you should have no problem what so ever :p

Is there a list somewhere of planned coverage? I'm SOL with any other affordable coverage where I'm staying now.

No Luck :( worth a try...

Sorry dude. One other thing to check, are you getting a connection on the dish? You should be able to see the lights at the back of the dish. Have you raised a ticket yet? If not I'd do that now already.

Haven't got mine yet so I can;t comment, but I will be flashing the E900 with DD-WRT

But this has a good QoS...

NB: Not for Beginners! Use at own risk!

You might want to check that with Garth first. From my understanding the hardware still belong to them. So I doubt they will allow flashing :p

Last question, I am currently with Afrihost and I want to leave it as soon as possible because I am having way too many problems but I dont want to be paying for both at the same time. When would be the best time to sign up for this? I also don't want to be left without Internet because I was told that if the technicians come, they wont just come to check if the signal will reach my home, they will come to install it.

Well it was almost exactly 2 weeks from contacting Bitco until I was able to use the connection. It was operational 3 days before that but they do a soak test of sorts.

Just to add, they only bill you from the day they hand over. You don't get charged a full months subscription if it's halfway through a month.

looks like 5 towers.

Will need to be something like a knysna Forest for him not to have LOS in so many directions :P

You could be like my office in Bryanston, seems to be covered by 8 towers and BitCo can't give me wireless access :)

And pay in advance. I expected that but wasn't informed. So be prepared to pay for the Pro-rata as well as the full month ahead on the first debit.
