BitCo Consumer Review

Hi All,

Our core infrastructure team have been, and are still, investigating our International routes trying to pin-point the origin of the problems with Facebook. We must urge you please to log a ticket detailing your experience as it is imperative this is logged on our support desk. The information you provide is vital to our statistical reporting and assists us with better diagnosis.

With regards to streaming queries, there is no anomalies on our network reporting tools showing any disruption on our services. For this reason, we suspect that any streaming problems must be isolated to specific links. Again, we ask you please to log tickets with our support desk. If there is something larger at play, perhaps a specific area which is affected, we will be able to identify this faster via the helpdesk tools we have.

Thank you all for your understanding. Thank you as well for engaging with us so that we are given the opportunity to correct faults and provide better Internet services.

................... I have to share this!

This is a true reflection of what BITCO are capable of providing.

This actually occurred and the penny only dropped after the fact.

Started downloading a 45 gig game from xbox live, which i actually forgot about.I then decided to watch some Netflix, ended up watching 2 seasons of Continuum and without me knowing my son starts playing World of Warships, this was all happening simultaneously at the same time in the space of a Saturday afternoon.

The following morning i remembered that i had downloaded a game so i went to check, it was still downloading taking into consideration it was a 45 gig game............then the penny dropped that on Saturday afternoon and into the evening I had utilized the connection to download a game, watch netflix and allowed an online game to function perfectly, without any interruption to the download of the game, nor a single incident of buffering from Netflix and I confirmed with my son he had no lag or interruption while playing the online game.

If I had any doubts about the Bitco service.......they have been buried!

Damn:wtf:

BITCO:cool:

Hi Disiza,

Thank you for your post and wonderful feedback.

We are particularly pleased to see that the work we have been performing on our national network QoS is yielding these results. This is exactly what we have intended to accomplish.

So I have noticed a marked improvement with the sites where I was having issues. Thanks for attending to this Bitco. It has been a problem for a while, glad to see steps are being made to resolving the issue.

Only 11 more days on Bitco, I'm seriously bummed. This has been the most stable connection I've ever had. Spending a month on 3G is really going to be painful.

Anyone having issues in Centurion?

Afternoon

There have been major cable breaks up the east and west coast of Africa and this is effecting many ISP's in South Africa. The local Google peering services have also been effected.

HI Garth,

DO you have any inside information as to why it's also affecting some providers local ADSL connectivity?

I see Nap Africa has dropped 60Gb/sec on their peering...

I couldn't access any internet at all with the Unotelly DNS. Once I removed it everything worked. This morning I tested it again before leaving and Hulu was working fine again so I assume Netflix and the likes will work now too.

So after nearly 16 months of joyous bitco internet I had to send through my cancellation today - the HOA of our estate (Midstream Hill) decided no more and I received an instruction in no uncertain terms to take down the pole etc.

I'm now also pretty screwed in terms of my options - no telkom lines in the estate as of yet only smartvillage Fibre which seems to be atrocious based on the number of complains on the Midstream estate residents forum.

Build a window around it, claim it's indoors :D
