So why have they been bothering to fix a problem if they have no intention of selling the product?
With RIM continuously posting better than expected results and adding 875,000 new subscribers in the 3rd quarter alone last year how does MTN turn a globally successful product into risky product line locally?None have been ordered according to Midrand - Reason below
No forecast or promo plans from Sales, we are also trying to keep as tight a product range as possible, especially on risky product lines.

Per your previous posting:
There was a problem with the 3G SIM which Midrand were trying to resolve with RIM and
MTN is not planning to realease the 8707 as it is a risky product
What I meant bywas I can't understand what's going on I remember that whole spheel about them testing as well hence -

My apologies - I though that given your new job you may have had a memory lapse!
(MTNDD can u possibly check why this cud be happening? So how did your boss get an 8707 considering MTN are not planning to sell them?

Our MD has a 'new' Blackberry 8707, he says, everyday on the way to work, the unit seems to lose connectivity, and thus no e-mail receipt... small "edge" on the display, not "EDGE" to indicate BB connectivity.
What he has to do, when he gets to the office (Lanseria, coming from home in KemptonP), is de-activate wireless radio, and switch back on, then it picks up the capitol EDGE again, and all the e-mails come rushing in.
So it seems, somewhere along the route from home to office, the unit loses connection to BB signal (cap EDGE) and doesn't automatically reconnect to the proper BB signal again????
Its fine during the rest of the day, until next morning?
Does all the MTN towers by defualt carry the Blackberry signal?
Anybody else experiencing this / any ideas???)
Doh! U're correct, I'm da arsole, it is infact the 8700! supose I heard 8707 so much talked about it stuck to my tiny mind
So, anybody have any ideas why the thing disconnects from BB signal (EDGE) to normal cellular (edge) so no e-mails. Only way to receive e-mails again (& BB functionality) is to deactivate wireless radio, and switch back on, so it will go EDGE (iso edge), not automatically???
