Hi
I have the Blackberry 9700 , when using the Maps & GPS , there is no directions via voice ( sound ). Normally you get a voice giving you direction. Please can you help and if anyone sorted this problem out.
Can I use another free software that will be able to give me directions.
I am with MTN

Thanks
Vaughan

Look for Vodafone sat nav. It should be somewhere in your applications icon. It has a red and white icon. You then download that. Vodacom gives you 2 years free subs to this so you dont have to pay for it.

True to the word Free

No dont think so. MTN uses Garmap as its free Nav software. Think they did a deal with them. If you want to use Garmap on a Vodacom Blackberry, it will be chargable and you need to go to the download site to download it to your phone. Vodafone SatNave is Vodacoms nav software for Blackberry GPS enabled phones.

I dont have this??
I am on vodacom with the BB torch....
any idea where/how i get this going?

With MTN garmap is free (24 Months), I think it can be used on Vodacom, you''ll have to pay for the licensing however.
Maps are online so normal dat charges will apply, no matter which network you're using

I also could not find the icon on my new 9300. Seems there is a issue with it not appearing even after ure phone registers on vodacom bis. I sent a stinky mail to customer care and the next day they emailed me a link to download it. Will pm it to u.

Damn u bwana....u too quick sticks for me!!! Lol

And unlike the garmap for mtn...vodafone satnav uses bis to download its maps, so no extra data charges. That is if the post further up by inus is true. If u set ure apn to the blackbery apn in tcp settings, then even garmap should use bis I think

@ ocleroux, you sure its free for 24 months on 9300 on voda ?
