BlackBerry problems plague users once again

No problems to report with BIS on 8ta.

I am willing to bet my lunch that its only vodacom once again. Anyone want to argue/ confirm?
To me BB is still far better for me, physical keyboard, e mail, bbm.
Yes it may not be as fancy as my S3 but I still think its a better phone.
the service? Well my sp is a disgrace

I had problems on MTN, lots of messages failed with that little red cross yesterday

Hello marine. As per my previous advice...have you started testing other SP's prepaid BIS options. Because you are using the Samsung S3 as your main phone...you are no longer bound to us for your BIS service and may pop any other SP's sim with BIS on in your Blackberry.

No problems on 8ta. Nothing against a BB phone personally (i have an iPhone and a Blackberry); it's an efficient business tool, easy to use, physical keyboard and lower entry price ranges.

Official RIM SA comment:

A small number of BlackBerry customers on the Vodacom network may have experienced service issues this morning. As an update, we can confirm that all BlackBerry services have now been restored. RIM apologizes to our customers for any inconvenience.

And there you have it ;) vodacom only

Ocks I am using another BB on Mtn - have had no issues. I also must add not all voda subscribers had issues as my work contacts were fine

Ok. Not specifically referring to this incident though. You are very unhappy in general with Vodacom BIS. Just reminding you that my advice stands and you are not bound to Vodacom BIS.

Alexandra Zagury and her whole team can get knotted! "promised to update clients about service outages" my a$$! Empty promises from a company which just cannot right their ship!

SERIOUSLY tempted to go SIII in November, even though the data charges will burn a hole in my pocket!

Trust me it will. I think vodacom fully understand that BIS is not good for business so hell let's throttle it and get users to jump ship we can make more money on data from other phones Not using the bis

Another BlackBerry user, Morné Laubscher, was less diplomatic: “Hey f***tards whatsup with BIS?…I’m paying for a service I’m not getting! Get your act together man!”.

Oh how I love myBB.

+1 ... suckers for punishment. Why would anyone in their right mind continue to use this crap service?

Because when BIS is working its a pleasure to have. No worries about data costs, bbm always works, app updates are thoroughly tested and don't cause problems.

I've been an Android fan for a couple years but I'm starting to see the attraction of a closed system like BB or iphone.
Except when BIS is down, in which case you are fccked.

That being said this seems to have been a network problem and the last cross network I'm aware of was months ago.

Lots of people b!tching and moaning about BB network downtime... who of you haven't experienced downtime with 3G/HSDPA via any of the other networks... VC, MTN, 8ta, CellC? Fact is we've all experienced it... so why the huge fuss when BB has a problem... then all the Android/iOS users start flogging the BB crowd... why... I can't understand!

All in all BB and all it's services are just as reliable as any of the other local services! No I don't use a BB, I'm an Android junky!

You may have a point.
