I know this has probably been asked before, but just to confirm :

If I buy the R59.00pm Blackberry add on, I will need to :

* Buy my own Blackberry cash (classifieds or something)
* Get Blackberry Messenger to any other Blackberry (included in above price)
* Unlimited Internet on the device itself (included in above price)

You dont need Blackberry Messenger - in fact I rarely use it myself anymore. There are other messenger type apps that I prefer using. But yes - PIN messages (what BB messenger uses) are inclusive.

If configured correctly everything through the BB apn is inclusive in the R59 deal...
If you know what you doing VOIP can also be included.

How do you do that?(voip) Does that include unlimited downloads?

If you download a file to the device - I'm guessing it sits on the device, eh? No way to copy to SD card or something and use the file on your PC?

Will something like symtorrent work?? :D

I use that at free hotspots on my 5800. Free torrents!

Hi Budza

Depends if the application allows you change apn`s as all 3rd party apps go via wap (internet) and not the BB.net apn .

Is VIIGO a third party app?

It is not developed by RIM and works 100% on BIS

Are you sure?

One of my colleagues had a Blackberry Storm. Downloaded and Installed iSkoot and made the test call from it. He paid for the call.

Was it a VOIP call because it was done from the application?

Not true as i have several net accessing 3rd party apps on my storm and every single one of them access the net via the BIS

Yeah the only app that doesn't use the blackberry apn on my storm is youtube app.

I'd love something like this for any phone. Uncapped internet, only on your phone. But then it must be all data. Can't use my Nokia 5800 properly because 3G is so expensive.

Hi,

What's the best deal I can get for a Blackberry Bold ??

Currently bill is like avg 1.3K a month & on Talk240 with a Nokia .. so want to move to a 'Blackberry Talk 500' contract (R899) + BB Add-On (R59) --Vodacom website

1) Can I pick any Blackberry with that contract ?? ie: Bold .. or does the cost depend on which blackberry I choose??

2) Are there better deals through other 3rd party outlets or is it best/cheapest via a Vodacom Shop?

Thnx

The Bold and Storm are still quite expensive even on T500, over R1000.
Maybe try the BB 8900.
You spend quite a bit, ask for a discount!

Im not sure about other dealers, maybe try Game or Incredible connection and a Vodashop.

Blackberry talk packages includes bis. You should be able to the storm or bold on btalk 500, I could when I got my storm in april no pay in.

@GPE

Alternatively you can opt for a second hand blackberry andjust use the blackberry prepaid service.

You can pic up the 8310 for around 1500 and the 9500 for around 4000.

That way you are not tied into a 24 month contract.

Thanks for feedback & advice guys.

I went to a Vodashop and the lady advised me not to lock myself into a R1K+ contract for 24 months :erm:

Seems my options are limited wrt bringing down call costs on a business phone.

I'm going in on Monday again to meet finance lady -apparently she may be able to help.
