BlackBerry speed tests

Also logged a complaint even though they already contacted me after I complained directly to them and they even admitted there is a problem.

Amen to that.....

I fell even worse than most - I went for the Bold as I thought the 3G would speed things up - When 3G's on I cant even make or receive calls and my old beat up nokia had way faster browsing on GPRS.....I just emailed RIM telling them that Vodacom is seriously letting them down - I frikkin hate my Bold which I shouldn't be....

On a separate note, anyone else narked by the fact that AppWorld isn't supported here. When I signed up for mine I was told yes, 1000's of apps and it syncs beautifully with a mac....what a crock of ****.....

...and I just ported from MTN to vodacom for the 1st time as I thought they were better.....aaaaish

We should all email RIM

Very good idea to email RIM and inform them southafricanrob! I'm going to do the same right now!

We should all complain everywhere we can.

aaah nice. wait for it to be BROKEN FOR 6 MONTHS. then wake-up and check capacity and act on it.

Typical.

Thanks for the update, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Ten days to go for a hopefully more richer Blackberry Internet Experience once the Network upgrade has been finalised.

Looking forward to the day, so that I can change my signature appropriately.

Till then, hmmm vasbyt?

The evnings are a lot better, can't use the BB browser at all during the day. Happy to hear that things would be a bit faster soon. How about gtting BIS servers here in SA? Atleast local browsing will be faster.

I hope the vc upgrade makes it worthwhile having their bb! If only they woke up earlier they wouldnt have so many irritated customers.

Eternal "Requesting"

I heard back from Vodacom today -apparently having problems with number ported recently from MTN.

So in reading the forums today:
Telkom line to France issue
Vodacom to RIM connection issues
Porting issues

....seems to be a few to many different excuses / problems.

The guy from Vodashop yesterday told me that its totally normal for your browser to say "requesting" for ages before loading. And he says of course its slow during the day - the network is busy.

I paid top dollar for a smart business phone to do business like normal folk do - during the day.

I dont care what they say - networks are making a killing and they need to stop lying about what they offer - if they told me "look , here's a kick ass phone - we cant offer decent speeds at the moment but we'll try and get there" i'd probably still get it and not feel so ripped off. or maybe not

Also, anyone else get "requesting" on your browsers for ages before loading??????

There is a problem with clients that ported from MTN to Vodacom recently yes when it comes to receiving calls. Vodacom is aware and a call has been logged with MTN as this is a routing problem. We are hoping for a very speedy resolution.

Feedback received

Good all

The problem below has been resolved.

test calls from Telkom and MTN lines have been made to 50 customers and all calls connected.

Vodacom called back after my HelloPeter complaint

Vodacom phoned me today, apologised for their terrible Blackberry service and promised that they are working hard on resolving it. The VC rep couldn't give me a date for this to be resolved but at least she acknowledged that a lot of their Blackberry users are complaining and that they know it's not working... I'm happier ;-)
