Download extremely disappointing at 10 Kbits/s - Blackberry Storm, 3G full signal, Hatfield Pretoria.

its Monday morning and just tried to do a speedtest on my Bold and it times out
so NO! nothing has changed, no upgrade
service still sux ass

Here is my results for this morning. I think its obvious that the whole upgrade story was just another lie. Its time we realise that having a blackberry with vodacom is only good for emailing and accept it. Vodacom obviously doesnt care about their blackberry customers as they are not officialy communicating with us and letting us know whats going on. Are there any Blackberry owning lawyers reading this? Maybe we can make a stand and together take vodacom to court and demand all our money back in a very public way.

Sent via BlackBerry from Vodacom

*The BlackBerry is only as good as the service provided by the cellular service provider. Vodacom renders the BlackBerry virtually useless due to an oversubscribed network and their inability to upgrade the network. Choose MTN as your service provider*

I must be living in another timezone, but here is my results:

Ouch!! That is exactly what I was getting last week, seems like the PLZ area is being neglected? :erm:

To be honest, I am not getting the lag, timeouts any more, pages load but not exactly snappy, but usable especially with the Bolt Browser.

Bolt browser will take its time to 20% and then instantly load the page.

I dont know enough about Bolt to want to trust them. It's bad enough that my data goes through RIM but adding a third party company to the mix makes me feel uneasy.

really does seem a bit up and down doesnt it..... a bit worrying, glad the CT speeds are better for you Astound :)

I eventually gave up on BlackBerry.
After months of being ripped of I cancelled my contract and got a X1 with a 1gig data package from MTN.
Its awesome having fast internet on my phone again.

@grapjas Did you have to pay penalty fees on the remainder of your Contract?

The X1 is awesome, really a quality phone full 3G too :D

Thinking of getting the Bold 2 for Xmas ;)

Contract was migrated from blackberry 240 to prepaid about 20 months before it expired with no penalties.
Vodacom picked up my Bold last week Wednesday.

Durban (pine town) - nothing was done and VD took us for another ride! Got to love them. I wonder what VodacomData has got to say? 24th came and is gone, and no announcement!

I think that is the key point to note is that we did not get an announcement from VCD to state that things have been sorted.

Until we get that, we will have to see things as _work in progress_ which is why I am still sending my speed tests at intervals to record my experiences.

Right now it seems that PLZ and DBN still need to be sorted?

Remember, assumption is the mother of all %#$ups

My signature change is due the eternal optimist in me :D
