BlackBerry split needed, says analyst

Oh please, please don't let Vodaphone/Vodacom take them over ... The BIS servers may be battling slightly now, but if Vodacom take over they're finished for sure

RIM needs to split yes, but not the split that is described in the article. They need to split their users. Business users and non-Business users.

Give business users more bandwidth and uncapped and other users less bandwidth with a cap.

There are too many BB users that use their phones to download movies etc that makes the network slow.

Blackberry needs to split into providing third party services and making phones.

BlackBerry needs to compensate with some better apps. How about a PDF reader, rather than some lousy games I will never use.

My Curve 8520 came with a PDF reader. I'm sure the higher end models should also have it.

Where is this free apps. I can only see Bubble Bash 2 & DriveSafe.ly Pro.

WHERE IS THE REST. Looks like BS from RIM again. :-)

I am finally done with RIM and Blackberry. Android here i come.

Why though?

I'm also a BB fan and will probably do Android next time as well - but my reasoning is more the network than the device. Vodacom BIS is simply frustrating to use!

When I'm at home, I rather connect wirelessly to 8TA 3G and pay to browse, rather than free BIS

Nope, my PDF reader only works on the 9780 from within emails, any other PDF and I can't open it! The PDF readers sell for R70+.

This has been blackberrys sytle for handling PDFs for years, i dont see it changing! Always make sure i email the pdf to my device, but this is not feasible in every case...
