Research firm Crowd Science recently conducted a survey of smartphone users and discovered that 32 percent of BlackBerry users said they would swap their present phone for Google's Nexus One. Just 9 percent of iPhone users said they would swap their Apple smartphone for a Nexus One.

I guess if you build a phone with a windows 3.11 like user interface people will grow bored with it quite soon :p

Most BB users I know wouldn't mind swapping but stick to it because their employers run the BIS/BES server and they're not given a choice.
I really do enjoy the unlimited data though. Speed has never really effected me even though other complain about it.

I would not swap my BB for another phone, but I would buy an additional phone if I can tweak the software

I admit to android being interesting but I don't know if I'll ever be able to leave my Bold 9000 keyboard and until someone else offers unlimited internet there is no other choice than a Blackberry for me.

Seems to be an all different story in SA then. But what do you guys think of the ultra dated user interface? Even symbian looks streets ahead in that department.

What's so dated about the UI and how does it differ from any other smart phone?

OK, makes sense. But it seems all the connectivity features and messaging ability is dependent on having BIS - doesn't that feel kinda limiting? And you cannot use it as modem then - right ?

I use mine as a modem. You have to set your computer up manually, but it is easy enough. Being dependent on BIS is not a problem, it is always there. When I use a normal phone, it seems something is missing - so I know I am dependent on it, but it can still do all the things a normal phone can do.

Why 9% would swap their iPhones for ANYTHING else is beyond me

Freedom I guess - and multitasking. And perhaps better camera performance. Oh, and maybe also do to more things with bluetooth. Also perhaps to load music onto their phones with greater easy and from any source. I guess also if they want flash lite support. Maybe it could be because they need higher resolution screens? Perhaps the 9% has not figured out how to jailbreak their phones and now they want something else they don't have to jailbreak. It might also be that they need a phone that can be used as a modem?

I'm not sure.

So what phone are you using Rouxenator?

I haven't used the Bold 9700, but the complaints I saw in that article would not really bother me, but then again, different features are more important for different people.

Each time you post regarding the iPhone it becomes clearer that you've never actually used it. Is it safe to assume you've also never used a Blackberry?
