Blackberry versus iPhone in SA

I'd agree on this. The bigger real estate, smooth fonts and simple zoom makes e-mail more readable on the iPhone. It pretty much looks just like on your desktop, at least if you use rich e-mail.

You can adjust the fonts on the blackberry too. ;)

I'm just a sucker for push email. The iphone just seems too kludgy to me. :)

Agree, but the iPhone's mail still looks sexier. ;)

My Storm is now on .141 (latest release) and it's a pleasure to use. But I'm keen to see what V3 is going to do for the iPhone.

Interesting that no-one's responded (yet) to my question on what a 'business phone' is versus a 'multi-media phone' and especially how the BB is deemed to be the one and the iPhone the other. ;)

Blackberry Curve VS Apple iPhone ?

Who'd be stupid enough to compare fruits with phones

Both of these are flavors of the semester and soon a new iPhone will eclipse the Blackberry and then after that a new Blackberry that... well you get the picture.

What people need to understand is that it is the same crowd that hops to the newest flavors as soon as they can - so you continually will get this motion of now the new kid on the block is outselling the old school one.

Outside this group of flash-in-the-pan-fruit-lovers you will find long term user crowds with business, multimedia, normal, average, impartial and couldn’t-give-a-f type people in them that sticks to whatever works for them. In most cases it will be non-smartphones or something like Windows Mobile or Symbian.

I would not be surprised if the N97 slips by the flash-in-the-pan-fruit-lovers unnoticed. Perhaps because the N97 will not be the first touch based Symbian device but rather an affirmation that they finally got the touch UI right. (5800XM is a beta product).

As someone who carries both full-time, I kinda disagree with both your assessments. :)
Most people will disagree with your assessments purely because it is you making them (don't worry, I know the feeling). :p
