You claimed 40 million kids are now educated. Wrong, in those stats (had you bothered to analyse them correctly) clearly state that 10 million children are educated per year, thats every single kid between 7-17. You added each year together to get 40 million...wrong... If I was in grade one this year I was part of those 10 million. Next year I am part of those 10 million, but in grade 2 (if they call it that these days been a while) You added all 4 years worth of stats together and made 40 million. I urge you to go look again.

If the governement is responsible for educating 40 million people and the population of SA is in the region of 48 ,illion that leaves 8 million uneducated people, which you would have to split between o-7 year olds and 18's and over. Assuming they're equal amounts thats 4 million pre-schoolers and 4 million people over 18....

Seen the stats for the elections (which I might add are only open to people over 18?)

So u just assume because its the ANC 3million could not have been built without stats or anything???? Ur prejidce shines through...

Dont u think opposition parties (DA) would find a way to disprove these stats if the were inaccurate???

If it is true (which i am sure it is) would your opinion of the ANC change??? That these incompetent people might just be doing something right..

But I'd still ask for proof. Again, they wouldn't make that claim without knowing there was some sort of prof to be had...Not saying they never lie but in election year, they'll add a bit of spin but they won't blatantly lie, the costs are too high.

I've never said they didn't I'm disputing the volume of houses they're claiming to have built and the fact that they used that as an election advert. Which if they're lying they need to have their nads chopped off for because they have then misled 65 percent of the population....

I was born in the late eighties. Started school with black kids and have had a black government for as long as I can remember. So why the hell should I feel guilty about anything?

I have already worked hard and been turned away due to my skin colour. Now I support the British economy with my taxes. Oh well...maybe the ANC will learn in a few generations.

Guys guys calm down. This is exactly the problem that I am talking about. I don't want to get involved in this but I just want to add the following reasonable analysis of the situation.

At the moment SA is on rough terraign and the party running the country seems to have lost the plot somewhat. Thats how it seems but only time will tell if everyones fears about Jacob Zuma comes true or not. We should not premept the future, but call me a counter revoluntionary for saying this if you want but if you look at the way guys like Malema are handling themselves and getting offended with Nandos etc then its does not appear good.

I don't want to be judgemental because I have never met Julius Malema or Jacob Zuma so it is possible that they are being misunderstood by the media and the majority of opposition supporters. They have said a lot of good things with the bad things, their future actions will be the ultimate yardstick of what their intentions are or aren't. Everyone is judging and condeming a president who hasnt even been sworn in. Lets all do the logical thing and wait and see.

On the flip side however, one thing that doesnt take a rocket scientist to see is that there is a huge divide between those who benefitted from apartheid and those who suffered under it. Some young people think apartheid is a conspiracy but it did happen. And as Nika said it gave one lot of the population a head start and over the other lot.

Its indeed like everyone starting a race and some people getting to start 50m ahead of others. In 1994 the worst could have happened and the wealth could have been redistributed as everyone feared and that might have corrected the imbalance but instead everyone was put on the same playing field albeit some ahead of others. What do you think will happen, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer.

Why else are black people living in townships and stuck in their current disposition because they are suffering from an enduring legacy of apartheid. Its simple. Nelson Mandela was an admirable man because he did the opposite of what many feared and he reconciled the nation at the expense of leaving the majority of the black population one lap behind. Everyone should be greatful the country didnt turn into a Mozambique or Angola and instead flourished as democracy and continues to do so.

A lot of the people posting here are able to do so because they have had access to technology which the poorer people never had access to in the past. Everything in terms of where the wealth lies, has pretty much remained the same in SA inspite of Apartheid ending.

For the people who feel they can't get jobs because of BEE it is totally unfair. They must stop to think that they are also suffering because of the legacy of apartheid, if it never happened then we wouldn't be in this situation where BEE is needed. We would be closer to the way the USA is now.

Instead we have a complicated situation and ITS TOTALLY unfair to black and white people everyone is suffering because of the legacy of apartheid. Its unfortunate that many black people now have to deal with it,as well as white people particularly english speaking white people have got the worst end of the bargain because they got sidelined in the old system (because of not supporting the apartheid) and now they have to pay the price for the Afrikaaners actions in the past under BEE now. This is all fuelling the tensions.

Instead of fighting eachother and the government we should look at ways to try and deal with the legacy we have and sort out the issue or else this battle will go on and on.

I have both black and (english) white family so I have seen the effects of apartheid from both ends, and everyone are the loosers. Both sides have their valid points but ultimately we have to move on and build the future.

Enough politics from me. I try not to think about this everyday and instead focus on other more important things like learning stuff and seeing where to help other people with computers and stuff. Maybe we should all do that and go back to the way the forum used to be, a place for providing technical advice and then we can all move on.
