Blank SMS's from Vodacom?

Does anyone else receive blank messages from this number:

+27820097627

I get two every day one after the other, always blank!

May be someone isn't trying to tell me something? :)

I'm guessing it's Vodacom??

The SIM is in my Huawei E272 HSPA Modem so it's a pain when I'm using MDMA.

Looks like Voicemail to SMS (Spinvox) do you have vm setup on the number?

I get ones like

all the time hehe...

My guess is these SMS message sare actually MMS messages

Try calling Customer Care and asking them to set your number for legacy MMS, but then you'll probably get SMS messages like these.
You might be able to do this by logging into v4me and choosing a modem instead of a mobile phone as your device.
 
Me too

Both my daughter and I (both Vodacom) are getting the same thing, but from different numbers.

Neither of our phones can receive MMS's. We both previously had MMS enabled phones.

How can we stop this SPAM?
 
If the network tries to send MMS to handset not equipt to receive them, then you should receive a SMS with a massive long web address for you to pick up the MMS manually using a PC...

Do you have email accounts set up on these numbers? That turned out to be my problem in the end... Just one unread email and yes! The unread email was from Vodacom!! :)

Not entirely true. You only get that SMS when your MMS in not activated, from what I've seen.
 
I have email registered on my account, and yes there was an email from Vodacom there. So I've cleared that, so lets see what happens there.

My daughter doesn't have email on her number, so that can't be it.
 
Well, I am still getting the blank sms's even after deleting the email....

Still no closer to relieving the pain of Vodacom
