What is the name of the street behind you where they have fibre?

Hi, still waiting for LHP to get fiber.

I feel your pain dude.

Hang in there, the contractors rolling out fibre for Telkom in Bloem is contracted to do so until 2020, so there is still plenty of time for them to hopefully roll out in LHP in the future. There is so much untapped potential in LHP for fibre providers other than Telkom to do something. Seems like nobody wants to make any money and there will be A LOT of people that will opt for fibre.

Until then, you'll need to play the waiting game sadly :(

Stumbled upon this thread and super excited. Bought a house in Universitas Ridge. Moving in, in December. Fibre already available. :D

They have been digging trenches on the one side of benade drive back in february 2016 and in november they have been doing the same with the middle part of the benade drive. the one side is the side furthest away from fichardt park primary school and then the middle bit... the middelmannetjie as the afrikaners say :D

oh and i did see some openserve bakkies driving around in the benade drive area at that time.

Bloem Fiber

Hi everyone,

has there been any further updates to fiber in Bloem?

Still waiting.. Unfortunately I don't think the southern suburbs of Bfn are a high priority.

They have been digging along the N1 next to Langenhovenpark for some time now as well as on south end of LHP (Pretty Gardens). Don't know if the cables are intended for FTTH, as there were 3 colours (green, grey and blue) which could just as well be for Telkom / Cell C and MTN for the cellphone towers (LTE wise).

I have a suspicion that once they're done with Dan Pienaar (where they currently are) LHP will be next in line, before they move southward toward Universitas / Fichardtpark. The rollout for Openserve (Telkom) fibre in Bloem is till about 2020, so there is still ample time for them to expand to other areas. Also, last time I spoke to some techies earlier this year, Telkom were targeting about 45 000-50 000 FTTH installations for Bloem alone. The only way they'll hit those numbers is expand to the majority of the suburbs.

Just be patient guys, it will come eventually ;)

PS: If only other fibre providers like Vumatel / Frogfoot etc would expand to the Free State, they'll make a killing alone in LHP, but I suppose Gauteng and the Western Cape is top priority at the moment for them and Bloem small fry unfortunately :(

Woah, not bad at all :O

Can you perhaps send me a PM with the relevant information? If you don't mind me asking, in which complex do you live and are you located in LHP ?

LOL @ what ambroseg1 said about NRE. Just hope that PPA Solutions (my complex's BC) also follows suit with fibre deployments in the near future!

According to the Cell-C coverage map, quite a bit of Bloemfontein is covered for fibre. But I'm not sure they're correct? When I choose my address and continue with the order, it says the provider is Openserve, but Openserve's own website says this area isn't covered.
