White coat syndromegot a reading of 140/85 at a discovery annual assesment at dischem (early morning/fasted/no coffee). Got me very stressed as first time had high blood pressure reading. Bought my own and done readings for a week under same conditions and been in the good range every time (110-120/60-65). Cant figure out why it would have been so high
interesting to read about, explains it perfectly. guess i get stressed by a visit these days.White coat syndrome
Sugar can definitely cause your body to hold onto water, just like salt, and that can push up your blood pressure. It doesn’t work exactly the same way as salt, though. When you eat a lot of sugar, especially stuff with fructose, it can make your insulin levels go up, and that tells your kidneys to hang on to more sodium. It also bumps up your uric acid, which messes with how your blood vessels relax, and it can fire up your nervous system a bit, making your heart beat faster and your vessels tighten.Anybody on here who went on the carnivore diet?
Did it help you with your BP issues?

Will keep this in mind, thanks.Sugar can definitely cause your body to hold onto water, just like salt, and that can push up your blood pressure. It doesn’t work exactly the same way as salt, though. So even though most people only blame salt, sugar can be just as bad, or worse, when it comes to blood pressure. That’s one of the reasons cutting out sugar and processed carbs can help people see a nice drop in their blood pressure. Eating a carnivore diet will definitely help, although you will probably get the same benefits from any very low-carb diet.
Try it for a few weeks and see what happens.
What changed in your diet?Back to having BP meds. I thought I was "cured" but obviously not.
Diet didn't really change much except I went a bit overboard with egg based diet for last 2 weeks. But, it is not that - it could be general work situation related. What changed in your diet?
How many times did your doctor recheck it. Normally they do it 3x. First time is always highest and then by 3rd it should be down.High blood pressure
Last week Wednesday I had my blood pressure checked. Was perfect. Since then I've had a stressfull weekend with about 3 to 4 hours sleep a night for 5 days now and not eating properly.
Today I popped into the doc next door and asked him to check it, its now 130/90 so its shot up. So yeah, high blood pressure in one week
He gave me a couple of suggestions to get it down, going for a walk in the evenings, sleep and eating etc so gonna work on it and check it again next week. But yeah, I had no idea blood pressure can shoot up so quickly![]()
I found that as well. More than once or twice. How many times did your doctor recheck it. Normally they do it 3x. First time is always highest and then by 3rd it should be down.
My one friend is 27 and does it. The unfortunate reality of our times is that genetic predisposition to high BP is pretty prevalent.lol, ouballies chatting casually about BP issues....
