Blood Pressure...

Thanks ... doctor said I should try it and see when my blood pressure rises. I suspect when talking to @epah - but we need to know for sure and how to mitigate it. It's just finding it is an issue ... seems to be one Dischem that offers it
Yeah @epah's OF account is not good for BP. So much hotness.

So, I found a Dischem that has one.

116/84 this morning.

Had a weird episode just before bed last night though: was brushing my teeth, and my heart suddenly started pounding out of nowhere, but not an even, steady beat, very erratic. HR was around 120-ish (resting is usually 70). Persisted for about 30mins. Face/head also felt like when you used to hang upside down as a child for too long - like a lot of pressure. Eyes also instantly went blood shot. Did a reading and BP was only 140/91.

Was whrighty posting on MyBB? :D

So I found some studies showing a link between high blood pressure and kidney stones - implying that stones could cause high BP.

I'm wondering now if my stubbornly high systolic pressure is related to the marble sized asteroid currently residing in my right primary filter...

Yeah, kidneys are affected by blood pressure. They filter all our blood, so makes sense they’d be extremely sensitive to changes.

I got this thing … pretty damn uncomfortable. Didn’t get much sleep.

I seem to get a lot of variance though … but I’ll take it to my doctor and see what day to night time reading should be

Yoh - did you consult a doctor for this or just brushed it aside ?

That variation doesn’t look right.

That's 100% why I took my little machine with, its been consistent in the normal range for two months - took it with today, they used their machine - which had me in a bad state, then used mine, and the same high levels.

When there's came back that high, I honestly expected mine was faulty and would report normal - apparently the machine is fine.

Yeah, when I arrive, I usually lay down and wait like 10 minutes. Then they do reading and it is fine. So for me, traffic sends my BP sky high.

I find that 2 Glucotrin 500mg tablets a day (taken in the evening) keep my blood pressure between 125/80 and 130/82.

Used to take Prexum as well but the combination brought the BP down to 98/60. Stopped Prexum and it went up to what I said above. The doctor contradicted me and said I was mistaken and should continue to take both

I took both for 10 days, seeing BP under 100 and felt dizzy and could not stand up for long periods. I was scared to drive

Seeing doctor on Monday and will tell him again about the symptoms

The blood glucose in the mornings is 5.5 and 2 hours after supper is 6.8

Just did my blood pressure after being back home for an hour, 134/78.

Side note: I really do not like being touched by strangers.

Pretty sure traffic would do that to me as well. Being in the office last year literally made me depressed because of the hours lost in traffic.

A bout of tachycardia - probably atrial fibrillation.
You really need to let your doc know about this episode. Tachycardia is common in its various forms, but your eyes and the hanging upside down feeling suggests a spike in intracranial blood pressure

My cardiologist (one of the best investigative cardiologists in the country) said my heart is fine and I need to get on with my life. The ILR still hasn’t found anything untoward in the two years it’s been in my chest, either. It picks up the ectopics I get but don’t seem worried about them at all. Not conforming in the least, because it feels like my heart skips a beat. Pretty sure it would’ve detected afib, too, but I’ve never been contacted about anything (yet).

Interesting re: intercranial pressure. I get ice pick headaches now and then - related?

I used to get episodes of palpitations and tachycardia quite often, but they pretty much disappeared the moment I quite caffeinated coffee.

My wife, with nowhere close to blood pressure problems, get those palpitations at times.

She seen many doctors, no one was concerned, except for my wife. I did remember during pregnancy, the gynecologist, said her iron levels are too low. Doctors would look at it and say nothing, except for this gynecologist.

When she fixed the iron levels, the palpitations stopped. Ive read that palpitations is one of the random symptoms that can happen if you have low iron levels. Not saying its the case for you, just saying sometimes random stuff happen when something is out that most doctors ignore.

always have a full blood count test, men should not be taking iron pills unless you want to peg...

often one can "feel" their heartbeat pounding in their ears or the likes and think they are having an episode, but yet you strap on a BP monitor and you get a perfectly normal BP and heart rate. I would guess sometimes your body is overly sensitive to pressures... always trust a good machine.

brushing your teeth or having a poo will increase your BP / heart rate, you are straining a bit so nothing to be overly worried about. Try brush your teeth with your head up as many people brush with their head down in the basin, see if there is a difference.
