Blood Pressure...

I have a blood pressure of 135/85, sometimes 140/90 is that high ? It has been like this since I was 28, right now I am 38.
Doctor says it's not high according to some health association recommendations so I don't need any meds.
I exercise regularly, BMI is 24 so not overweight too. Diet is pretty restrictive since I was diagnosed with hasimotos(auto immune disorder of thyroid) this year, but TSH is 6.5 which is a little higher than the normal range of 4.5, T3 and T4 levels are normal. No thyroid meds yet.
All my other blood work is normal.
Thoughts ?

Insulin resistance is one of the main underlying drivers of high blood pressure in many people, especially when there’s no other obvious cause. If I were you, I’d definitely do a fasting insulin and fasting glucose (HOMA-IR) test to see if that’s the case. If it is, you can usually fix it with a low-carb diet.

just a test of BP armband over a jersey and then on skin, left and right arm :

left arm
118/85 70 jersey
126/84 73

right arm
135/91 77 jersey
121/85 76

It's not great it's classified as stage 1, the 140/90 is pushing stage 2

Your pressure is from Hashimoto's disease. Make an appointment with an endocrinologist. You need proper care

Did the Glucose tests twice came back normal, I even did the one which tells u the last 3 months average that was also normal.
I am always on a low carb diet.

Saw an endocrinologist in India, he was quick to put me on thyroxin meds, but I didn't want to. Yet to see one Here in SA, there is a six months wait to see one here

That is great, but be aware that most doctors just check fasting glucose, but that’s not the best way to spot insulin resistance. Your blood sugar can stay “normal” for years because your body just keeps pumping out more insulin to control it. By the time glucose finally rises, the problem’s already been there for a long time. Checking fasting insulin together with glucose gives a much clearer picture of what’s really going on.

You need to monitor the thyroid function closely. As the disease progresses it will affect your blood pressure and lifestyle changes wont do much (unless you an unhealthy individual). You must remember your immune system is attacking your thyroid gland

Surely disregard the readings with the jersey, it's not recommended if I am not mistaken.

go to the nurse for discovery mumbo jumbo = +150/100 tells me that's bad, does it 3 times with their little machine, I say no way.

I go home and check it on my fancy expensive machine = 120/83

ummmm
Perhaps the nurse's cuff was too tight? Or any other number of factors could have led to the high readings by the nurse?

Ok

Been a while. 122/77. On Telpres-40 now coz no co-payment required. Others ones like Cozomovek etc. needed copayments. These medical schemes are basically scamsters just like ANC.

116/76 though heart rate was 96 but I am sick and wife made me walk around bestco for a bit

Yesterday had my Vitality test BP was like 170 on left arm and 162 on right arm. No diamond status for me then.

Had a rough year emotionally and mentally, job loss, + not sticking to my meal plans. Still no excuse.

Today at my GP its 142 (which for me is normal - family history and stuff)... LOL - still on some light meds. Austell Amlodipine 5mg to get it even better.

They used that machine to measure and my doc used the classic old school.

Oddly enough I did the Cayenne pepper thing last night and finished it off this morning with 1 banana. Although sample is too small to be statistically relevant. Can't rule out NULL hypothesis.

Anyway we journey on.
