Blood Pressure...

Don't think it did...
Crampease has sodium which if taken in high doses will definitely affect your BP. It's always a good idea to discuss all vitamins, supplements, herbal products that you take with your GP.

For cramps, a plain magnesium supplement will be far better. It helps for cramps, and has an additional BP lowering effect. Options include slow mag, ultimag, solal magnesium glycinate, and others that you can discuss with the pharmacist. Also depending on your vit D levels, consider a vit d3 supplement (eg d3 5000).

You need to read better. My BP was too low so I got taken off the diuretic - even with the cramp ease. My doc was quite happy with the cramp ease initially.

Yoh, grumpy. That's a sign of high BP, you should perhaps check your BP again :)

No, unfortunately I didn't read the 48 pages of the thread, so please accept my apologies for jumping in without knowing the context. My response was to one of the later posts in the thread (does crampease affect BP).

In your case your doctor is aware of the crampease use and is okay with it. That's how it should be, and the following probably doesn't apply to you. However these forums are for people to learn from each other and as such I gave an opinion that in a hypertensive patient there are other options for muscle cramps. If you read the pamphlet, it will tell you that crampease has sodium (which should be restricted in hypertensives) and also this supplement interferes with many anti hypertensives. I hope you agree its probably not a good idea for another hypertensive pt to read this thread and think it's ok to be taking this at esp 4 tablets a day without at least letting their doctor know about it.

All the best with your BP. God speed.

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if its been mentioned

There was a study published in the Eur Heart Journal - taking your BP meds at night shows a significant reduction in cardiac events

so switch to taking your meds at night if you don't already... (just before bed they say)
My counter-argument against taking it at night before bed, at least with beta blocker type blood pressure medicine, is that if you do rigorous exercise during the day, that its better to have your blood pressure kept as low as possible so that it doesnt increase too extreme during exercise.
If I took my medication at night, it would probably wear off significantly before my exercise and put me at risk.

So i would say take your medication based on your lifestyle. If you are active and pushing your body, then probably take it in the morning. If you dont have those worries then night time probably great.

Guys

Buy and drink water from Aqua e Vide. Sure, it may be a bit more expensive than your normal filtered water, but there are benefits to it.

I've been doing it, and my BP is consistently low without the need to use BP medication. Heart rate is also down from 88 to 60.

To be on the safe side, monitor your BP for a month whilst drinking their water, and see if there's any difference.

Apparently reverse osmosis water strips everything from the water (nutrients etc) so the water's "dead".

Aqua e Vida do use reverse osmosis, but in addition they filter out heavy elements as well, and they add nutrients etc back to the water.

The end result is water that does not make you thirsty, and which is actually good for you.

I was also sceptical of the BP claim, but it definitely works for me.

Magic water? Hmmm... my BP and heart rate are medically controlled, but if I could find something else to help my keep it down, I'm in.

Sounds like eyewash, but hey, it works for me.

edit : BP is up, a bit stressed at work :( but heart rate is 65bpm...

Will monitor later.

edit2 : the sensible thing will be to monitor yourself for a couple of days and at regular intervals to see if this water do make a difference.

Better be safe than sorry.

Wow. Is that AF with ventricle tachycardia? If so then it could be benign electrical problems and not heart structural problems.

Was on Exforge.

Made me a bit crazy ;)
I've been through about six or seven varieties. This works the best for me and no side effects.

That's what they say about high BP meds, you need to find the one that works for you and it may take a while...

3 reading average tonight 120/66...
I reckon I'll be off the prexum in a month or two at this rate
Well done. What did you do? Measures like weight reduction, less salt, healthy diet etc?
