You do know that the gold standard, i.e. double blind trials, is hardly ever (probably never) used for ayurvedic medicines ? Ayurvedic industry (at least in India, where its usage is highest) is basically "anything goes" based on whatever ancient sanskrit text says and its liberal interpretation at best of times.Anyone who uses ayurvedic or natural medicine for high blood pressure?

*3 of my close friends in India did some degree related to ayurveda and they have their own manufacturing units of ayurvedic "medicines".
I don't hate you that much to suggest you ayurvedic meds and waste your money. Are there products available in SA?
how old are you ? The average person would be laying in a hospital bed with those readings.I went for a routine checkup yesterday. The doctor took my blood pressure, and, concerned by the reading, called in some nurses who took it multiple times. My average was a shocking 210/140, with a peak of 228/140. They understandably wouldn't let me leave until it came down a bit. Needless to say, I'm on medication now until Friday, when I return for further tests.
I'm monitoring my blood pressure at home every few hours, and while it's still quite high in the low 190s, at least it's better than yesterday's readings. The strangest thing is, I felt perfectly fine throughout the ordeal.
Will be 42 this year. Been under a lot of stress with work, family and all the rest. But otherwise I had absolutely no symptoms. Now though it's time for some lifestyle changes.how old are you ? The average person would be laying in a hospital bed with those readings.
That's why they call this the silent killer. Virtually no symptoms, but damage being quietly done in the background, and then something pops and it's cheers.I'm monitoring my blood pressure at home every few hours, and while it's still quite high in the low 190s, at least it's better than yesterday's readings. Thanks Sinbad. Yes, it was quite a shock! The Amloc and Fortzaar do make me a bit lightheaded, but I'll see what the doctor says tomorrow. That's why they call this the silent killer. Virtually no symptoms, but damage being quietly done in the background, and then something pops and it's cheers.
Glad you caught it, and good luck getting it under control.
