No! you dispute information given without giving evidence to support your view on the topic. Then you harper on the economy and why the technology under discussion is not good or wanted (BY You) at this time and reference to the Japan economy in strife to prove your point which is off topic.
Off topic? So you say that BD makers are not seeing drops in sales despite big lay offs in their own workforces and the workforces of companies which make HD TVs to watch your dear BDs on? If you don't see the connection then you need to find someone to point it out for you. You are just going off topic here making a fight for no reason. Grow up please. Stop making personal attacks when someone speaks pragmatically about your darling tech.
And no I have no affiliation with any company or supplier. I just wonder whats your agenda. Always against Sony, M$, DSTV, HD and any new format or technology. We are not all stuck with what we own and many are interested in the new technology that you so willingly shoot down.
Yes I am. I am against companies which push rubbish products or behave in consumer unfriendly ways or just monopolise their position.
I'm not shooting down the tech but the actual commercial application thereof:
1. BD is too expensive.
2. BD is very slow to load.
3. It is loaded with DRM - so can't backup.
4. BD licences are expensive.
5. HD panels are expensive.
6. Associate H/w is expensive.
7. For most part the differences between HD and SD are not discernible to the user viewer unless he sits within 3.5 screen heights of his set. With 40 inch sets and people owning houses, at least here, I don't know how that is.
8. Punters are pushing BD at a time people should invest in better education, buying shares, spending more on essentials or saving - because of the global liquidity crisis.
Furthermore SONY has often meant suckage. I could mention rootkits
for one. Killing off the HD-DVD competitor and increasing their prices another point.
M$ is monopoly central. The US DOJ and the European Commission have proved it.
DStv - I pay my premium subs. No complaints about them.
HD - I like HD but buying tiny HD sets and sitting far from them is NOT real HD.
Anyway I'm tired of arguing with you. Please cut the ad hominem attacks. The fact that you mention other issues (Windows 7) means you have some prejudiced views here. You also hit on Tim Gaul in your signature. You appear not to be able to play nicely with others.
