Blu Ray alive and well?

Simple fact: You discuss world economic woes and gripes against DRM in a Blu Ray thread while you punt its good that its more popular that people steal DRM content via the net. Your agenda and gripes are very clear.

You are just pulling ad hominem attacks all the way. Can you argue the points at hand? Do you just attack other people who disagree with you?

Now you accuse me of PIRACY? When you don't know jack squat about me.
BTW Fair Use rights are protected in the US. Don't get worked up over that, format shifting is not illegal.

Ever heard of Dr. Phil? You seriously need an appointment! What the hell does this whole rant have to do with Blu Ray. Who are you to say on what and when people can/must spend their money? Again what is the connection/relation of this personal rant with the topic at hand. Please do not even try to explain it. Just call someone, you have serious issues at hand.

My opinion is that BD is not worth the money -- not for what it offers.
I've explained why, about 3 times so far.

You are just upset my opinion differs from your astroturfing.

It's good they're dropping prices and that proves my point. Without
serious dropping prices BD would not be 'alive and well'. If I put a brain dead patient on life support I can also say - he is 'alive and well' but he isn't.
Without these measures BD would not sell nearly as well.
Well maybe sooner than later we will reap the benefits. Alternative is to import and thereby bypass the local sharks.

Well you can import but you can't watch. In case you didn't know it,
SA lies in Region B where most disks come from A (US and Japan). You
can import but you cannot watch - they made it especially difficult to watch.
When DVDs came out Drives were region free from the box.

God please, Anything Blu Ray related, just stay away from your Sony/DRM gripes and please we do not want to hear about your personal problems and world economic woes. Start a sepperate thread for that. How about a "PeterCH.co.za" ranting thread. Hmmm.

Go read your posts. Your comments are about the world economy woes and your personal gripes. If you now define that in the single line above then as stated you have serious issues to address.

One of the reasons is that the astroturf site is punting BD when people should be saving, I think it's wrong of them to do so. Anyway you're continuing your ad hominem attacks. Get over it and realise that there are people who have tried your precious BD, probably have purchased more content than you have (I have a huge collection of legal movies and CDs from around the world) and stop the personal attacks. You take the side of SONY and DRM as well as marketing,
I take the side of the consumer. You won't change my mind but I'm sure you'll get disillusioned with BD sooner or later. I've already stated what I consider acceptable of a new format.

BD is not worth the money. I can more than easily afford it but it's not worth the money for what I've seen. This is not the ONLY
reason why BD sucks. People who push BD are just too easily satisfied IMO.

Peter, You have no clue as to what you are talking about, really.

Ive been watching "Backups" since 2 years ago.

Keeper -- AnyDVD HD is seen as an illegal application by SONY and it
doesn't work with all disks and all drives.

So far I count one consumer on your side and that is PeterCH, Know him at all?

So now after all that expenditure and wasted money on BD and THREE HD screens et al, you begrudge Sony, M$, their adds, The Internet and everyone else for your indulgence? So just sell or your stuff and then maybe you'l manage to get out of your personal and world economic woes.

Me getting disillusioned with BD? Never! Technology advancement and quality over cr@p is what I seek. Its my money and my indulgence. I do not smoke, drink or whore to waste my money. Thats my choice and not up for discussion here. Blu Ray is the topic.

Now FFS kiddo, Just get back on topic or find a new playground.
