BMW 320d 2013 - Advice please

Ah, the 320d. I had a 2004 320d. Man what an awesome drive...until something goes wrong. This goes for all diesel sedans, not specifically BMW. Injectors comes to mind. You would probably have a maintenance plan or remainder of motorplan. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I went with the car. They doing smash n grab today, and sorting out a few small chips here and there.

Definitely going to be calling some tyre places to get prices

Awesome, enjoy it! I'm also tentatively looking at a 320d. Did you manage to negotiate on their price? Seems most 320d's from 2013 with decent milage are around the R300k mark

Something interesting to note.

The media system on this car comes with an option to play music through an aux cable, and through a USB drive.

Even though the car has Bluetooth, and works perfectly, there is no option under "external devices" to play music through my phone.... sucks.

Upon some quick googling it would appear that its an optional extra that BMW charge for? Or perhaps a software update?

brand new we were quoted like 4k each for my bosses car ...17" run flats

He is getting ripped off.

My 2c bout the Run Flat vs non Run Flat:

I also have a 320d, and they came with Runflats. I replaced the runflats with non runflat Pirelli's @ R899 per tire (205/55x16), which was about 30% cheaper than the runflats at the time.

In the end I bought 2nd hand full size BMW rim off Gumtree for R500, and put an old runflat on it.
It does take up quite a bit of space in my boot, but the benefits outweigh the discomfort for me.

I rarely have more than 1 person drive with me, so the boot space is adequate. I saved a little bit of money, and the ride is more comfortable. Lastly, and most importantly, I can change my tire anywhere, and it gives me peace of mind.
