BMW Drivers = Psychopaths

so do VW and Toyota and a few others,
but the point is some things cant be one at a independent, but HAVE to be done at a BMW dealership

That's just not true.
Granted, I never had a BMW car, I only had a BMW motorcycle, but every part is available for order, they give you service estimates - and as far as I know, their actual work isn't allowed to cross over the estimates, so you won't get charged more suddenly. Only reason I used them was due to a damn maintenance plan that forced me though. I was quite impressed though. Get some muffins and coffee whilst you're there, wifi, magazines, or a loaner unit if you're gonna leave the bike ther for a while.

And fun fact, when I needed new tyres, they were cheaper than other places.

A lot of dealerships are shite. If you aren't obligated to go there for a service plan, 9 times out of 10 you'll get better results from an indie or neutral service station. Partly due to the targets that the mechanics have to work towards. I took my car to a dealership, they had the car for a full day, I rock up, they haven't even started with my service yet, but 10 minutes later they tell me it's done. Guess who didn't drain the oil? Guess who didn't replace the air filter..

Also, BMW keeps stores of its parts - you do know they have a factory in SA right? Chances are you'll wait less for BMW parts than a Honda.

On the parts front, 100%.

Missus had an issue on her Honda and it took 3 weeks to get the part (thankfully it wasn't anything critical to the operation of the vehicle)

I had cause to inquire about a door actuator/lock for my BMW recently, and my local BMW was hugely apologetic that they didn't have stock and would only be able to get it in by the next day from JHB.

Ok, please do educate me, what HAS to be done at a BMW dealership that an independent wrenchmonkey can't do.

You seem to have a list in your head, so please do put it down for us to have a look at.

Some people simply havent "lived". They live in their own bubble. Imagine if this guy had any decision making power in the company he works for. smh

plenty of computerized parts that need programming/Configuration, hell even the keys probably,
airbag/ SRS faults,
infotainment faults,
Climate control module faults,
then engine bay, timing chain/belt
Fuel system injector
and many others even something simple like the dome light, as there is a dedicated computer, just for that.

and the list goes on and on, if it was so easy to fix, and any independent mechanic could fix it,
then why are the resale values so low? there must be a reason, what is it?

to me Mechanics especially independent mechanics will tell you, buy a Toyota or a VW and never mess around with it,
many mechanics will also love the BMW's than come in as they know they can easily make a nice profit.

Eish, can you imagine...

They'd still be using type writers and driving around in Citi Golfs :D

Um nope... all of those can be done at a half decent independent workshop.

But even if they can't, the vast majority of that list would apply to all manufacturers vehicles these days.
And no, mechanics won't tell you that because its a load of horseshyte, all manufacturers make dud vehicles and good vehicles. Any wrenchmonkey that tries to tell me a whole manufacturers range is either good or bad is a wrenchmonkey who is a retard and I would avoid.

if we had your way, we would be using laser engravers, that cost a Thousand times more than necessary,
and we would have BMW garages around every corner, for all the broken down BMW's littering the roads...

so the independent mechanics I linked to, did you watch it?
do you not agree with them?

as I do, why would they lie, they get Rolls Royces and aston's and cheap Toyotas.
and they HATE your Big Money Waster car, even as Mechanics...

We have broken BMWs littering the roads?
Funny, I honestly think I see more Polos and Hilux's on the side of the road fscked than I do any type of BMW.

people saying only Successful people drive BMW's, okay, no problem...

then explain how the incompetent/corrupt and stupid ANC all Drive BMW's or wish to own a BMW...

To be fair. They were successful. Productive, no. Honest, no. Useful, no. But they were successful in what they wanted to achieve, which was self-enrichment.

However, that's quite a logic leap there, from "you should've worked harder and you would've experienced it too" to "aNc IS sucCesFULL"
