BMW M3

What would you buy?
2011 M3 Coupe Dynamic D-CT with 23k on the clock for R 740k OR
2014 M3 Coupe D-CT for R 935

I think the three years more on the motor plan will make quite a difference?

What you guys think?

I would go for 2011 M3. 23k is low kilometers meaning you can extend your motorplan by another two years by just adding the "time" instead of "kilometers". Motorplan extension by "time" is far cheaper.

Reason I would not spend R 935 on a 2014 M3 Coupe is because new M3/M4 is coming soon and will cost a little more than R935.

I would get an m135i , save 200 - 400k and still have a cracking beast of a vehicle.

The 2011 was the choice.
It was registered in October 2011 so the plan expires in October 2016.

Compared to the 1M Coupe, ( 700K ) it just doesnt make sense.

can you even buy a brand new 1M now ? I dont see it listed anymore in the car magazines

M3 is an icon. It makes a statement something a M135i cant do

Sure, but you pay for that. And in terms of driving enjoyment, an m135i gives plenty of that at much less damage to the wallet.

M3 experience is on another level...maybe a 1M Coupe is comparable but not M135i.

I never said it was comparable, i just said you can get a beast of a car, still have the BMW badge and save between 200 - 400k.

but yes, if you have the money, then get an M3...I guess I am just looking from my perspective, where I cant afford one :)

Personally the only car I would choose over an M3 would be an Audi RS3. The M3 was always my first love. While my S3 was faster than an M3, when I got behind the steering wheel of the ///M it evoked emotions my S3 never did.

On Topic:

I wonder what M3 did OP settle on...hmmm

Off Topic:

So I came across this "sick" sounding Jozi-plate E92 M3 now.

It's definitely not a stock exhaust...my only (mild) confusion is if its sick (car not doing to well) OR "sick" (like check out the M3; aces bru!).

I'm leaning towards the latter....

a few of them run aftermarket exhausts, they sound like supercars going past my flat
