Why Grabouw? I remember in the old days my dad insisted on Grabouw boerewors as it was the benchmark in those days.
Now you just shop around...not in any supermarket, but at proper butchers, and you will find good stuff.
 
It's just a recipe. Your typical supermarket does not do it right by a long shot.

It's a recipe. Not a brand. Your typical supermarket does not do it right. Disgusting really. When done right it is the quintessential boerewors taste though.

I have a friend that lives in Malawi who brings it to me whenever he comes, sorry to disappoint. I can't find it anywhere locally

I get it so irregularly that I tend to guard it like fort knox whenever people are around, this friend is also moving to AUS very soon so that makes it even harder
 
ok, now I've seen everything, boerwors with Chocolate sauce?

please tell me its a subculture of Afrikaans people that hide in a bunker somewhere only to come out and impregnate some women
and go back into hibernation

Hmmm. If you have to bring race into.

I would think it's a "brown person" thing. I dunno.
 
I prepare boerie rolls like this:

Fry wors in nonstick pan (after simmering them in a little water for 10 mins). No oil - they have enough fat.
Put in sliced green chillies, fried onion rings, etc...Wjatever is available or easy to get.
Mustard sauce/mayo/tomato sauce
Remember to grill your bun on the frying pan before you put your wors in (same applies when you're with a woman btw)

ok, my next question is Why?
why do such a thing,
or is it like lettuce and chocolate something eaten by pregnant woman during labor?

if so, no judgement, as pregnant woman get cravings, like the ones who eat sand or rocks.

"Mole" sauce may actually taste amazing on a boerie...

Mole poblano contains about 20 ingredients, including sugar and cocoa but for practicality and simplicity chocolate is also used, which works to counteract the heat of the chili peppers, but its flavor does not dominate. It helps reinforce the sauce's dark color provided by mulato peppers.
