Boks snub Soweto

Nope not coming to centurion too, wait they might speed through here on the N1 as they hurdle down to Jozi!

And here me, a loyal bok supporter....snubbed, woe is me

OMW, what a whiner. What will a visit to Soweto achieve, (apart from being hijacked for the gold in the cup). Soweto is close to the parade they can taxi there!

It is precisely this sort of fsck-you attitude that is going to get the team renamed, quotas implemented, etc.

What cr@p, they are doing sponsorship rounds to all other places, they could have just tried to generate some positive PR and gone through and just drove around the streets.

WHO IS "THEY"???

Do you seriously believe Brian Habana, Percy Montgomery made these decisions.
Give it a break.

Y'know what - The Eastern cape is the home of SA politics if you think about it. Mbeki, Mandela, among others are from here.. we get left out of anything significant, not least the funds... the poorest folk in the country live here...
Whinge about something worthwhile IMO. Not that I disagree completely about them going to Soweto, but hey, for Sowetans to go to JHB to see them is hardly an effort.

As I have said in other threads on this forum, SA Rugby really is not serious about getting ALL the people of SA interested in the sport.

The whole country got behind the team regardless of political issues, and none more so than in Soweto, where I watched the match in Diepkloof. And instead beeing seen to thank people of Soweto for their support, they pull this stunt.

Sox, I agree 100% with you. This however is a management issue, Hoskins, Stofile, what do these guys do all day besides jumping up and down once a year banging a political drum and bitching about not enough players of colour being in the squad, help me out here?

This is not a player decision, Hoskins must answer for this. We have useless useless useless people in positions of power in SA rugby, get rid of this rubbish. They do not have a clue.
The very first port of call after the airport should've been Soweto, taking our political issues into consideration.

Whatevvaaa :D
They have this lekker new shopping center in Soweto, ideal place to go and dish out some Bok gear and sign a few autographs.

The main manne what count at SARU dont have a frikkin clue about what is happening around them, idiots the lot of them.

BOOHOOHOO they're not going to Soweto. As soon as people of a certain stature can't help or visit a township, everyone wants to cry and moan and create an uproar and throw accusations of all sorts around the table. do they even know what rugby is in Soweto?

I'm going to start a riot because bafana have no plans to tour through Sunninghill after winning their game against Zambia

I love the way that the sport is used for political jousting every chance they get.
I spoze when service delivery is that bad, pointing fingers at everything else is all you can do to stop people noticing the failures.

No dude Bafana dont win *anything* national embarassment is what they are, despite their overpaid useless coach.

People should start thinking and stop moaning, due to limited time it makes visiting everywhere impossible.
Most of the people from Soweto go to either JHB or pretoria for work each day so why cant they head out like everyone else does to see the boks in JHB or PTA?
Im in East london which is a fair side bigger than Soweto and I can categorically say that we have more supporters here, but we arent getting visited and we understand that they cant go everywhere.

I think it's more than a bit harsh to say that this is evidence of SA Rugby not interested in getting people interetsed in the sport. There is ample evidence that they are, though I'll grant you this is unfortunately not a unanimous view. I do however agree with you in that this is politically very naive and a massive missed opportunity. It could be a very powerful symbolic gesture. I really hope that they reconsider. But then, I don't really have faith in Rugbys administration.
