Boks snub Soweto

What a load of crap - Sox - the whole country supported the boks only because they were going to win. You guys are rediculous. Where are you throughout the year when they are losing? You only seem to support them when they are winning.
 
So what if they're not visiting any township? I dont hear any people from smaller towns moaning because the Boks aren't gonna visit them. Also gotta agree with marine1 here, where was the township support when we were not on top of our game or even during the TriNations?

As I have said in other threads on this forum, SA Rugby really is not serious about getting ALL the people of SA interested in the sport.

The whole country got behind the team regardless of political issues, and none more so than in Soweto, where I watched the match in Diepkloof. And instead beeing seen to thank people of Soweto for their support, they pull this stunt.

OMW, what a whiner. What will a visit to Soweto achieve, (apart from being hijacked for the gold in the cup). Soweto is close to the parade they can taxi there! Use your energy to get the GVT to support sport growth in Soweto, but first let them solve the communications fsukup and broadband, then everything else will fall in place.
 
it seems to be more of a 'visit your sponsors and give them publicity' thing. Don't think it's snubbing soweto unless soweto sponsored the boks...
 
It's a kind of "I supported the Springboks and now they're not visiting me at home :(" mentality. If you really want to see them, go to wherever they are ;)

Yeah, while I don't think they should have to go anyway, politically this is a rather dumb move, especially considering it was on the itinerary originally.
 
Everybody from every other township and suburb has to drive to the CBD to see them - that's the point, CBD's are more centralised. If they had to go through Soweto only, then there would be a real uproar because residents every township and suburb in the country would be bitching and moaning. Can you imagine what a logistical nightmare it would be? Would you be willing to visit every township and suburb in the space of a few days?
 
This is really dumb of the organizers, theyre messing up a really good opportunity to spread the love and inspire new groups and people. Im very disappointed :(

Well, I won't go to SOWETO because:
1. safety is not guaranteed.
2. actually named by the oppressive uncreative NP. South-Western-Township for the unenlightened.
3. see point 2 and look at posting time. :)
