Bootmgr missing Window 7 HELP!!!

Good day

Yesterday my pc would start up (boot) normally

And then today when I switched on my PC, when it just goes pass the checking HDD and ram thing screen, then it says:

loading operation system...

Bootmgr missing

Pres alt + crt + del to restart


Yes, I tried restarting the pc to see if it just happened, and yes, it did appear again :(

Then afterwards I googed

People said like do system restore, did that, still the same

Repaired windows, still the same

And then something weird, IF i boot from the DVD rom first and let it check and then just skip the installation


IE: Press any key to load from CD Rom, and I press nothing, windows will start up...



So can anyone please just help me? I don't want to format my PC.. and I don't want my windows disc in ALL THE TIME..

How many hard drives do you have in your PC?
I had this before where my BIOS would suddenly pick up one of my other hard drives as the boot drive - went into the BIOS and changed it back to my boot drive, then booted as normal...
 
Download Hirens Boot CD, boot up from it and there is a nice option to fix the bootmgr missing problem, also has a mini xp you can boot up from it with tons of programs to fix any computer.

Should help.

Try this:
Insert your Windows 7 dvd.
Let it boot, then at the install menu, click on recover/repair Windows
Follow the prompts, then opt for the command prompt console.

Follow the guide in the link above.

If you've done that it should reinstall the boot manager and fix your boot entries and you should be fine.
 
It's quite possible. Annoying when it [hdd boot priority] changes for no reason though.

I have six HDD, and one DVD rom

The OS is on a SSD..

What do I have to do to change the BIOS setting?

As mentioned by ChrisGeo - check the "boot priority" in the BIOS (should be under the Drive or the Boot tab, depending on you board make - what motherboard make/model do you have and have you checked the user manual to see where the setting is?
 
Are you talking about first boot second boot third boot?

Cause if so it like this:

HDD
DVD
floppy

But now, I have to boot from window disk, so it's:

DVD
HDD
floppy

so yeah.. :(

Correct the above would be the normal setting; but there is also another setting where you "sort" or "select" the hard drive you wish to boot from if you have more than one hard drive installed in the system.

Something else to check is that the boot hard drive is connected to the appropriate SATA port on your motherboard, usually SATA port 1 - that way, the BIOS should default the "sort" or "select" option to that hard drive automatically.

If you can't find the above setting in the BIOS, post your motherboard make/model here and we can check it for you... ;)
 
If Asrock H55M-USB3:
When in the BIOS, go to the "BOOT" tab then select "Hard Disc Drives" - the manual doesn't show you what the screen looks like, but you should be able to change the drive priority - make sure your HDD with Windows on it is set as the first/primary drive.
Then back on the "BOOT" tab, make sure that the "First Boot Device" is set to the same HDD set above.
Save the settings and reboot.

Advanced BIOS Features
Hard Disk Boot Priority
Specifies the sequence of loading the operating system from the installed hard drives. Use the up or down arrow key to select a hard drive, then press the plus key <+> (or <PageUp>) or the minus key <-> (or <PageDown>) to move it up or down on the list. Press <Esc> to exit this menu when finished.
First/Second/Third Boot Device
Specifies the boot order from the available devices. Use the up or down arrow key to select a device and press <Enter> to accept. Options are: Floppy, LS120, Hard Disk, CDROM, ZIP, USB-FDD, USB-ZIP, USB-CDROM, USB-HDD, Legacy LAN, Disabled.

Wow, howardb. I wonder if the OP appreciates the immense trouble you went to in creating this post. Screenshots of two different BIOSs, arrows, instructions. If only more MyBB posters were as helpful.

But yeah, that is where I change the boot setup... I did change it to HDD, but it still gave me that bootmgr missing :(
