Bosch series 2 dishwasher issue

Took a chance and replaced the drain pump and viola all back to normal. Only schlep is that you have to remove the door cover to gain access at the bottom.

The drain pump has to spin before it allows the the inlet valve to release water into the machine to avoid flooding the unit.

My water is not draining in my Bosch series 2 dishwasher.

I did the basic checks i.e filter, check if drain pump is blocked but it still moves etc but still no luck. So assuming it's the drain pump itself.

Where exactly did you buy the drain bump?

Also you mentioned the schelp to remove the door cover? Do you have a link to a youtube video you used to replace the drain pump.

can you move the impeller with your finger?
can you blow back through the drain hose?

Yes I can move the impeller with my finger.
Yes I check the drain hose and checked the drainage pipe

Thanks for the link for the parts.

Hopefully the job to DIY is not that of a schlep - just need to get a good idea of how to get to the drain pump

my first guess would be to get at it from the bottom, but i have never done it myself hopefully someone here can answer you.

otherwise youtube university :p

Our Bosch is about 12 years old now, only ever had 2 issues;:

1. Water pump wore out
2. Level sensor died.

1 was easy but there was a post that was hard to get, had it shipped in due to bad stock levels, also around covid.

2. Difficult to diagnose, machine kept filing but not healing, thought was thermostat or element by the appliance guy said this never tend to go and the constant refilling was a sign that the machine wasn't wanting b to go to next level.

Have your racks not deteriorated? my racks have started rusting in certain spots, its only a matter of time before I need to replace them or the machine (mines a defy though)

Mine doesn't go quite that far, but yeah, it is counter intuitive.

Aside from everything else dishwashers are supposed to save water.

Damn! I clean my filter once a week and that thing can get nasty - big difference when i rinse vs when i dont.

Wonder if the manual suggests at what frequency to clean the filter

Nope, my machine still looks quite new, in daily use. My rack seem powder coated and the rails and inside is all stainless.

Thats gunk in the rails vs rust. Only thing I might do sometime is replace the door seal, looking a bit tired.

Will definatly buy another Bosch if/when this one dies.

I have Bosch one similar to @Kosmik , end of they year it will be 20 years old.
Touch wood never had any problems, just cleaning it from time to time.
 
So the tap light on my unit started flashing again and I assumed the outlet pump is again stuffed. Machine doesn't work
Did some checking and tried this which fixed the light problem, but it's happening every few or so.
The fix is pinned in the comments.
