Hello PC gamers and builders,

So I built my rig in 2017 and it does well on most modern AAA games on 1080p at medium/high settings with decent frame rates.

My specs are as follows : CPU is core i5-7600K @ 3.8Ghz, GPU is MSI 1060 6GB Version slotted on a MSI SLI 270 Mobo.

Now I want to upgrade to a 3060. But I then thought the core i5-7600K might throttle the 3060. So can I as well budget for a new CPU right (and the mobo) ? Will my current CPU cause issues to a greater extent? Im targetting to play 1440p resolutions

At 1440p you will probably not bottleneck a 7600K with a 3060.
