#BoycottWoolworths campaign grows

I won't quote you.

WERE THERE 2000 NEW BABIES BORN IN THE PAST MONTH?
NO!!!!!!

GAZA POPULATION MINUS 1900+ DEATHS EQUATES TO A FIGURE LOWER THAN IT WAS 30 DAYS AGO!

My last attempt of trying to revive a synapse in the hope of it triggering your brain cell.

There was a post stating the facts on the population statistics...

Kevlar suit helps when in the crossfire!!

I was going to go with thick skinned or of sufficient size but thought I'd get a warning :)

Can people though not deal with the arguments at issue here though?

Let me help you with a flow chart:

Potentially deviating off topic - well into another topic that never gets discussed - but a considerable component of the vitriol that arises concerning Israel arises because of the unstated (and horribly) misguided assumption that Israel is to blame for the entirety of the conflict in the region - basically no Israel and Jordan, Syria and Egypt would just be cool and some notion of Arab serenity would arise. This belief unfortunately was fostered by a deeply corrupt Nazi who happened to have a lot of power in the Palestine mandate during the holocaust and I strongly believe that until his ghost is properly banished (in a historiography sense rather than supernatural) anti-Semitism as a component of Arab identity will be tolerated (notwithstanding the very sad irony that in being anti-Semitic, Muslim Arabs are being self-hating).

The inverse phenomena - of regarding Israel as the only "civilized" and peace creating State of the region - has already been adequately covered and so I don't see the point in going into why it is horribly wrong.

how conveniently you happen to forget about the birth rate

lets see:
"GAZA POPULATION MINUS 1900+ DEATHS EQUATES TO A FIGURE LOWER THAN IT WAS 30 DAYS AGO!"
now add to that the 4300pm birth rate
= an increase of 2400 - EQUATES TO A FIGURE HIGHER THAN IT WAS 30 DAYS AGO!

decimated ?
hardly

You make it seems as though being anti Israel is the same as being anti Semitic by saying:
"Muslim Arabs would be self hating"

Proof of 4300 new borns in the past month?
Oh look a flaw in your calculations, blame the Arabs!

Not at all - and the fact that you are reading that into the remark says a lot about the blinkers you wear
Being of the view that a big man needs to be in charge (the caliphate of whatever shape or form) of the Palestinian region because Semites are incapable of ruling themselves and that Palestinian Jews are inferior for genetic reasons is anti-Semitic

You can disagree with the existence of the State of Israel or with the policies and government of same or any host of other things but the moment you start believing that it is something genealogical about Judaism you are rightfully accused of anti-Semitism

grantza was wrong. It was closer to 4500 births.

GAZA CITY

Around 4500 births were registered in the Gaza Strip during the 30 days of Israel's attacks on the tiny Palestinian territory, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Saturday.

Gaza Interior Ministry spokesman Eiad al-Bozum, meanwhile, said that his ministry had not made a survey of the number of new Gazans yet.

He expected, however, the number of births to exceed 5000, saying that some children were born, but they had not been registered yet because they were born in either schools or shelters.

Gaza's population had reached 1.9 million in the first quarter of this year, including 947,000 males and 922,000 females, the Interior Ministry said.

Gaza's population is expected to reach 2.3 million by the year 2020, which will turn it into one of the most densely populated areas in the world, according to Palestinian statistics.

Israel had killed 1904 people, including 433 children, in almost a month of attacks on Gaza, Palestinian medical sources said.

@pension: if you want to add value to your thread, then provide details on the proposed events, date/time/venue, etc.

Don't!!
It's a sensitive topic, inciting potential violence on protestors is not on.

Interesting topic now, I approve.
More about this genealogy of the modern Israel and the population.
What is the "Jew gene" of the average Israeli today compared to let's say an ethnic Palestinian?

genealogy has little to do with genes - it is heritage

Moreover how are you defining you "ethnic Palestinian" - Hamas excludes Jews, Christians, Hindus and atheists of Islam from their definition, which is a little problematic if you want to argue for a "secular Palestine"

Well one of the companies I do work for has made a decision to no longer buy equipment from an israeli company that has manufacturing infrastructure on one of settlements within the Palestinian territories. The proposed deal was worth only $120,000 but it was surprising as the directors are usually all business.

I totally support their decision, but see it as totally different to this woolies boycott, which I feel is a bit misinformed .
