Brackenhurst ADSL Problems

I got an automated phone call from Telkom on Friday evening, 16th October to say that there was an upgrade taking place on my exchange and that my service may be affected for up to 48 hours.
It hasn't gone down yet, but I wonder what kind of upgrades they are planning?

The exchange still says it is not 10 mbps enabled, but I am already on 10 mbps.

The sales person I was talking to did mention that they were running tests on the exchange - maybe you were on of the lucky ones that got upgraded.

That website hasn't been updated for a while.

OK, so the phones are out in Brackenhurst and Meyersdal. Seems they are working on the exchange today.

Maybe that means I'll be able to get 10mb/s :D

Still waiting for Telkom to tell me when they are coming through.

And I just cancelled my adsl because I'm stuck on 4Mbps.

Finally got DSL installed yesterday - aside from crappy WiFi from my router it is working well.

Techy confirmed that I can get 10mb DSL - but suggested that I run @ 4mb for a while just to see that the line is stable at that speed.

Still down - no ETA from Telkom - or any real information about what the problem is; aside from it being Equipment failure.

DSL was back up yesterday - apparently there was a card failure in a UMC somewhere...
