Breaking Bad over... Now what :/

Wire isn't on Netflix though.

Sigh.

I've been mightily impressed with House of Cards, The Blacklist, Masters of Sex and Homeland. Agents of Shield is also watchable, and The Mentalist, HIMYM, New Girl and Arrow have started again. So there's plenty to watch.

You should buy the DVDs / Bluray, lots of extra content.

Got most of the Extra content from SickBeard, it managed to find surprisingly a lot of the specials, but ill def check that out! Thanks!
 
I think it will take a very long time to fill the void with something else half as good.

I'm just on the hunt for a sci-fi series now.

There's a new 1 coming out soon, Almost Human.. looks ok ish I guess.... pilot should be airing soon?

Assuming we're talking about Last Resort. That was a good show, i loved the pace. Also who cares whether it was "cancelled" after 1 season. In my oppinion, it rightfully ended after the single season. The story was told in one season, much like Prison Break / Damages / Homeland . So sure they could have gone on for 2-3 more seasons and drag things out, but thankfully it didn't, which meant every episode was pretty action packed. Some of these shows is actually more like "Mini series" tv shows, and continuing it further doesn't make sense. Even Ray Donovan, that felt like a mini series to me, it ended, they will probably go for another season, but imho the story was told...




Anyway as for alternatives to Breaking Bad, i guess a better question would be is what exactly made BB what it was? Is it the gritty, violent nature of it (combined with it being a drama) ? I suppose that's why Ray Donovan / Boardwalk Empire / Game of Thrones would fill that gap.

Some of the other shows mentioned in this thread are actually very tame compared to BB, hence why i'm saying it's important to know what you liked about BB ;).

Shows like House of Cards , Boss , Homeland is also very explicit (nudity/sex) but not actually as violent as BB. They do however have the same pace and dramatic storyline to it.

The fact that it was on for 1 season was only given as an indication that it is a bad show. I do not even know if they "finished" the story, as I stopped watching by episode 3. Giving shows like The Blacklist, Sleepy Hollow, Revolution and Last Resort (all mentioned here) as alternatives to Breaking Bad, for Breaking Bad fans, is laughable actually.

Well i'm not giving those shows as alternatives, i actually said they are quite tame in comparison. Last Resort is also certainly not an alternative to BB either, but it was still an enjoyable show for me (and yes they did finish the story). So as i mentioned in my second paragraph, BB is a gritty, violent show, so even Dexter is tame in comparison (especially the last season) . I'd even go as far as saying shows like True Blood (if you're into Vampires) is more on that level, although a very different type of show.

Anyway, you only watched 3 episodes of Last Resort, so no point in arguing with you, i'll argue with someone who watched more ;) Also your logic is flawed, a show like Firefly was 1 season, what does that say about the show? I'm sure there's plenty of series that were canned in 1 or 2 seasons that was actually quite good.

thanks man, I've been googling like heck for 'chicks 'n' guns' for a long time
the clip of the making of it (2 minutes) is available everywhere, but not the actual 8 min clip
 
The only thing to come even close to Breaking Bad will be the return of 24 next year. Everything else is just sub par by far. Vince Gilligan should get to work on a new story asap.
