Today 07.02.2018 they have discontinued the Checkers discount on eBucks and moved it to a Rotational Basis and not permanent as it was before...

Lower income households use this to get groceries and I think we should all email care @ fnb .co.za

let them know, and if we get many emailing them... maybe this will come back :-/

As the Afrikaaners would say, people were pulling the dam from under the duck, like paying utilities with ebucks vouchers and such, Checkers maybe had enough of that.

Exactly. Just look at all the "cheats" in the eBucks threads. If you want to abuse the system, don't be surprised if it's taken away.

You say rotational do you know that for a fact? Then I will just wait it out....

As if they care.

As the Afrikaaners would also say... As dit pap reen moet jy skep! and seriously though... we all dished. Can't blame checkers. We knew it was coming just didn't know when

Hardly doubt this was the case it got removed.

Well, it could contribute, remember that they actually have to hand over actual monies paid to Telkom, municipality or whatever. If the discounted ebucks vouchers are used for actual things that Checkers sells, that's a different story, for example, they just make a 10% profit instead of a 50% profit if you use a level 5 bought voucher.

LOL @ Lower Income.

Lower income households don't get to Reward Level 5.

And anyone who isn't getting to Reward Level 3-5 isn't really getting any benefits here after costs.

So yeah...that's not going to work as an excuse mate.

If you're going to throw a tantrum, maybe at least get your dates right. The Checkers discounts have been gone for a week already.

I actually managed to buy on the first of the month then an hour later gone

Isnt FNB paying the merchants for the vouchers? I'm sure the merchants pay X % for the affiliate, but it won't be anywhere near 40%?

Or are you saying a shop like checkers will take a 40% profit hit just for you to shop there?

Oh yes, I forgot about that, but someone has to pay actual money to Telkom, municipalities and such, and thus why this has been changed.

Yea, someone takes a knock that's for sure. They could also just close those loop holes I guess but that sounds rather like an admin nightmare and probably has to be done on the merchants part.

I actually met the CEO of ebucks last year at a conference in CT. And he vaguely mentioned they want to go full eccommece, similar to takealot. He said something about buying bulk from the big retailers and then offering those products on discount on the ebucks store.
