Bring Back The Death Penalty!!

Me Me Me Me, death by stoning. I'm tired of supporting prisoners in jail with MY tax money... if the ANC wants to keep them alive, take it out of their salaries.

Yes, and you can tell the guy who was killed for a crime he didn't commit when you see him in heaven (or is that hell) that you're sorry.

And you can tell the guy that slaughter'd your wife and raped your 5 year old daughter that you forgive him, this being when you bump into him in shopping mall after his presidential pardon, after all, his crime wasn't that bad in South Africa, in fact, its quite common.

Also... its not the death penalty that kills the wrong people.

How many Rapist and murderers go free because of our judical system. Criminals have more rights than us. I say an Eye for an Eye!!! and child rapists derserve worst than death.

Who thinks the death penalty should be brought back??

Dream on.... Dream on...

If the girl next door hates you and falsely accuses you of Rape (punishable by death) .. will you trust the justice system to find you innocent?

The problem in our legal system is not the punishments, it's the problem of actually catching and convicting criminals.

Sorry? You know what? Just about every single wrongfully executed I have ever heard/read of ended up where they ended up because they were up to no-good to start with. Someone who is clean as a whistle will be excluded as a suspect very very quickly. But if you get accused and convicted of murder because your actions put you in a position where you are the strongest suspect, you don't deserve anyone's sorries.

It is not possible to get it 100% right with any crimes, regardless of the penalty. There will always be a handful of people who take a fall for the benefit of society.

At the moment we're losing 50+ people a day for the benefit of the criminals. Who's saying sorry to them?

Actually, if you have ever been inside a maximum security prison (as I have for contract work), which is where they send rapists and murderers (but only the "violent" ones, as if rape and murder isn't enough violence on their own), you will know that there is very little "punishment" involved. From everything I've seen, the average inmate who behaves well have a pretty decent life. Access to TV, internet, three good meals a day (I've had the same food), access to good fitness equipment, relative freedom within the prison, an excellent library, hardly any labour, aside from cleaning the prison itself. That sounds quite a bit nicer than we had it in boarding school....

so killing 20 REAL criminals and 30 innocent people in the name of 'Justice' is OK ?
just collateral damage?

Would YOU take the fall for society?

So if this were to happen they would have been pardoned from the death penalty.

So they'd go free instead of getting the death penalty.

The question that is always avoided is if the problem is failure to convict how is the death penalty going to make any difference? No-one is going to get convicted and no-one is going to be executed.

Will I have a choice?

Of course it's not OK. Of course no one wants to take the fall.

But where do you get 20/30 from? If 3 innocent people get executed for every 20 criminals that do, then what we do for punishment is the least of our problems.

Let's do a bit of classification:

Shooting a guy during a car hijack - Death by hanging.

Breaking into a house and shooting the owner or throwing boiling water down his mouth or any form of torture - Death by hanging

Raping a baby - Death by hanging

It is easy to identify these cases. Normally somebody is dead and their is a lot of blood around the body.

These guys end up in jail and we feed them 3 meals per day. Our old people do not even get 3 meals per day.

My vote: Bring back the death penalty. Botswana hanged a guy last week. If it works for them, then why not for us?

So if this were to happen they would have been pardoned from the death penalty.

How could they? They'd hopefully be dead before that time comes round again..

Tell you what, if someone ever did anything like that to someone in my family, I would have them killed. As you'll see in the post about the 7yr old kid, R20,000 buys a someone's life. P.S. I'll pay an extra R10000 to have them tortunered in the worst way possible... to death.

But if you get accused and convicted of murder because your actions put you in a position where you are the strongest suspect, you don't deserve anyone's sorries.
Like being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Someone who is clean as a whistle will be excluded as a suspect very very quickly.
Keep telling yourself that.

At the moment we're losing 50+ people a day for the benefit of the criminals. Who's saying sorry to them?
So you're saying that these people are being murdered because those criminals are not in jail. So if we had the death penalty these people would be murdered because those criminals had not been executed.
