While they're waiting to be executed. The president could just give pardons more often. Apparently he does it almost daily anyway. How could they? They'd hopefully be dead before that time comes round again..

Like being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
So you're saying that these people are being murdered because those criminals are not in jail.
So if we had the death penalty these people would be murdered because those criminals had not been executed.
Will I have a choice?
Of course it's not OK. Of course no one wants to take the fall.
But where do you get 20/30 from? If 3 innocent people get executed for every 20 criminals that do, then what we do for punishment is the least of our problems.

Sorry? You know what? Just about every single wrongfully executed I have ever heard/read of ended up where they ended up because they were up to no-good to start with.
comic book dealer has been jailed for life over the 1975 murder of 11-year-old Lesley Molseed.
The schoolgirl was found stabbed to death on moorland after disappearing during an errand to buy bread for her mother in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
Lesley MolseedRonald Castree, 54, from the Shaw area of Oldham, has been told he must serve a minimum of 30 years in prison.
Members of Lesley's family shouted "yes" and hugged each other in the gallery as the jury returned a guilty verdict at Bradford Crown Court.
Castree's conviction comes 15 years after tax clerk Stefan Kiszko was released from jail over the murder.
He had been wrongly jailed and had spent 16 years behind bars for the killing he did not commit
As long as the ANC is in power, the death sentence will never return. Do you get that ?
Never ever never ever not going to happen. Ever.
Do I support the death penalty, no.
Not that I had a problem with Hussein being strung up - I just believe the law is not equal, and humans are fallible. Mistakes cannot be rectified later.... but perhaps the from the ACDP will be of great consolation to those executed in error -

Beyond reasonable doubt ? Tell that to the 124 prisoners released from death row in the USA alone after evidence proved them innocent.
In 2006, 91 per cent of all known executions took place in China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan and the USA. Do we really want to align ourselves with those countries?
The death penalty is not a punishment.
Locking the bastards up for life is - and by life I mean until they die in their cell.
Extremists will say that is inhumane and doesnt allow for possible rehabilitation. Bollocks.
Lock them up and throw away the key.

I few casualties or collateral damage is just fine with me. Thats the law of Humanity for ages and forever!
Even if it was someone in your family or only someone you don't care about ?
What if somebody killed an evil person, in punishment and on the justification that those who don't respectt life, don't deserve life, that those mint, and by the justification, he should kill the person. Another case will be what if the person, the murderer was mentally ill at the time. Or if the judge did not evaluate the evidence well enough, and the person is put to death, while a few years later evidence is found that that person was in fact not the criminal, but innocent?
As already stated those few errors is justified as collateral damage if it save at least half the lives due to violent murders as we experience today. How many lives sis Mbeki's stance re AIDS cost, How many did Manto Kill So yes collateral damage is acceptable if it saves the lives of many thousands.!
Who thinks the death penalty should be brought back??
The DA and ACDP talk about it, but only because it will score them points. They'd demand criminals were dressed in pink tuxedos if they thought it would get them more votes. What South African parties will though?
Worth the price if it will save thousands of lives! Simple to understand or maybe not!Collateral damage is all very nice until it's you or your loved ones who is "collateral".
The problem in our legal system is not the punishments, it's the problem of actually catching and convicting criminals.
