British series, mini-series and dramas .....

I see Prime Suspect 1973 has been cancelled. What a shame.
 
The Loch was great - despite the negative reviews.

Nothing ground-breaking here, the usual 'village' full of people with skeletons in the cupboard but well worth the watch.

The scenes of the stunning Scottish highlands and the Loch itself are a bonus.

Agreed. The only bit where I had to suspend my disbelief was when the youngster had what amounted to pretty much just a band-aid over a rifle shot hole through his cheek and said when asked if it hurts "Aye, a wee bit".

They make them tough in the Highlands :) - one of my favourite places to visit.

"Fearless" fell into much the same category - nothing ground-breaking but worth the watch - as will (I am guessing) "In the Dark".

I am also watching the original "Inspector Morse" and "Lewis". John Thaw = awesome.
 
I have watched Morse so many times I can probably recite the lines, but I have never seen an episode of Lewis.

Not sure why, perhaps I just didn't want to see it not live up to its predecessor.

Should I give it a go ( if I can find it ) ?

I've watched one or two. It's fine.

Of the three series.... Endeavour is best, then Morse, then quite a distance to Lewis.

Personally it's Morse over Endeavour, with Lewis trailing. That said, I rather enjoy Sergeant Hathaway.

I thought Endeavour was exceptional. DI Thursday's daughter story ruined it a bit as the series went on, but otherwise it was great.

I also love Foyle's War and George Gently, so maybe I have a subliminal like for this type of period cop show :)

EDIT: Oh, and I prefer WPC Trewlove :whistle:

Ditto, though I need to include "DCI Banks".

Thaw was also excellent in "Kavanagh QC", as was Martin Shaw in "Judge John Deed"

Lewis is great TV. Doesn't have to beat the other two to be good in my books.

I'm just shocked at the murder rate in a small town like Oxford...reminds me of shows like Hinterland. During S02 I suddenly had the same thought: is there anyone left to murder in this isolated rural area?
